I’ve been saving money all year and I’m super proud of myself because I was able to buy my mom a dishwasher! She really needs one since she has started to get pain when she stands to handwash dishes. I got her an energy efficient one, and some eco friendly detergent tablets to go with it. I ordered it for mid-December but I haven’t told her yet, I’m gonna wrap the detergent and give it to her this weekend as a way to tell her 😂 It feels amazing to be able to give gifts that the other person really needs, like giving chocolates or a gift card is nice and all but when you know it’s something they really need it means so much more.

i am honestly not the most sustainable person but i try my best to educate myself and try stuff out (oh and i love buying second hand or thrifting). i always gift people useful items or edibles, and nowadays because of covid i sent out packages to people (only my mom and sister) and i love to reuse boxes and packaging :)

Great gifts ideas, ever since I started being more aware of the consequences of consumerism I completely change my perspective on Christmas gifts and I will rather prefer to give or receive something like this. Also, giving it receiving experiences like a trip a vacation or a fun and unique activity with the people you love is a great option.

Hi ! About the bidet : I'm half iranian and my iranian family has always used watering cans after going to the toilets, wayyyyy easier to implement than the bidet and you use it the same way ! Something to think about :) (I feel like any asian and african family knows this trick but it looks like we're the only ones...)

Probably a super silly question but how do you dry? Do you air dry or use a towel then? Edit: I used a water bottle after childbirth and can't believe I haven't thought about using it after I healed! Duh!

@@silverlining7112 at first I air dried but my gynecologist told me that thats probably why I get infections so dont recommend. Now I have two little towels (one for the peepee spot, one for the poopoo spot) and I pat myself dry with them :) It's not a silly question to me !

Hey Shelbi! So my (very cheap and bad quality) earphones gave up last week, so your video came in just the perfect time, because you reminded me of House of Marley. I thought they will be a super expensive company (as usually sustainable brands are...), but I was surprised to see that they have very reasonable prices. And the earphones I had my eyes on even had a discount this Black Friday, so I am very very happy now. I love them and I also feel amazing that I did something good for the planet. I also come from a family of hyper consumers (and so does my spouse). Luckily, this year I'm pregnant and the baby is due right before Christmas. We're only getting things we need and nobody is complaining about it because baby and it's the best Christmas ever. And a lot of baby products are reusable, so we can donate them when we're done.

The Pela cases are amazing! I have two. They had a buy one get one so I got the sea turtle and the mandala. They hold up so well against my clumsiness. I can't tell you how often I drop my damn phone, and I 100% expected my phone to crack because the cases don't feel as solid as an otterbox but it is. It's so freaking sturdy.

I have been wanting a Pela case for a long time now but I just haven't gotten one yet because my current one still works. But I want your special edition one. I can switch between the two.
