I've used my Core for 5 years and I beat the hell out of it. Still looks great and works perfect. My strap holder snapped while out on a search and rescue task and Suunto replaced the strap free of charge after 5 years. Love it.

David Watson He does sound like a real moaning minnie. The watch might just be a bad one but it was under warranty at the time and he didn't give Suunto a chance to rectify the problem before slagging off the company which is just lazy. And just for the record I have no connection to the company apart from being an owner of a beaten up secondhand Core All Black and very happy with their customer services.

Middle and backlight buttons stuck after four years of hardcore usage. I dismantle the watch according to instructions of watchuseek, released the buttons but it seems that malfunction of buttons will continue. Then I've decided to see the springs which pops the buttons which looks very soft to me. To replace them with harder springs I bought a gas lighter, tear it apart and located the spring which feeds sparkler wheel with flint. Simply cut the spring and replaced the middle buttons. A little WD40 and middle button works perfectly. Then I decided to modify all the other four buttons with harder spring. Now, my suunto core works better then original.

Hey guys I just purchased a suunto core from REI CO-OP and the compass is way off I’ve recalibrated it several times and it does not help, I just took it swimming with me at my gym and after that it says low battery and randomly gave me the complete wrong time and is just acting weird...should I change the battery or should I take it back to REI for a replacement?
@DownRangeReviews8 жыл бұрын
Had the same watch for since early 2013, also from Amazon and no problems. The barometric pressure sensor does pick up gunfire though! Haha. If you can get a second from the Amazon Seller, I would do it. Although it's not a Rolex, Omega or Hublot... but again, my experience is different. Thanks for you information and videos, brother!

I had the same problem with the buttons. I ve got some dirt on my wrist and this caused the trouble (so much for "the outdoor watch"). By pressing the button and rotating it i managed to solve the problem. But after 7 months the "+" Button got stuck and there was no way to unlock it. I had to send it back to Suunto (to Finland). After 2 weeks i got it back and surprise: They replaced the case and the battery, but they nicked the box and the instruction manuals! But they didnt charge me anything since the watch was still covered by the warranty. So i am disapointed by this so called "Outdoor watch". When i do pushups or Burpees outdoors i cover my wrist with a sportstube/bandana. But the customer service is first class.

I bought this model watch for my 40th birthday. First off let me say sunnto make really great products. They are one of the only companies that are licensed to make products for NATO. That being said I've had the exact same problem with my watch. I've had it for over 7 months and have had a few problems with it. Also when I press the back light button to hard it resets the time to some random numbers. It could be just a faulty watch. I did purchase it from an online retailer. And can't find my warranty. It cost me 2000 kronner because I live in Sweden. It's a shame Because it's probably the most expensive watch I've ever bought. No slight on sunnto as a company. Just my own personal experience. Be careful when buying this particular model.

The Casio DW-6900MS1 doesn't offer ABC features but it's got a negative display and a huge window that gathers a ton of light. The backlight offers nice bold illumination that doesn't wreck your night vision like the standard 6900. It's incredibly water resistant. Mine have been pretty deep in long lake and the Pacific many times with zero problems. And just a side note, my last batter lasted 5 years. Hope this helps someone.

My Suunto Metron bought in 2000 had the same issue. Suunto say just to lubricate with water, so try running it under a tap. Never bought another digital or quartz watch since the Metron. I went with a quality automatic diver in the end and have never had a problem with it. As tools, suuntos are rubbish and customer service is worse than rubbish. Anyway, I hope the water fix works for you.

Just send it do Suunto and get a new one without problems. Don´t make so much wind. I had a pixel failure over the whole screen from top to bottom of display. I just got it changed to a new one from my dealer. And it works fine. Within each Series of technical devices there might be one or another failure.
@davidcollins42275 жыл бұрын
I see a few different opinions on here. I totally agree with the OP. He’s had the watch 20 days and this has happened, I had mine 2 days and had the same issue. I’m use to G shocks and Protreks and never had a single issue with buttons in 30 years of owning Casio’s, apart from an odd rise man digital issue that became faded. People who say things break in life and what the hell its under warranty, are just plain ignorant. It’s a 200 dollar plus watch that doesn’t do much and doesn’t do it well. Things I hated with my Core AB , shitty build quality , made in China so that makes sense, buttons are crap, display is terrible and unreadable in most light, 30m WR is very poor (I get 50m on a Casio smart watch lol) feels like a £15 watch from eBay. I gave Suunto a chance and will never buy these crappy watches again. My latest Casio Protrek WSN F20 smart is day and night better, built in Japan, fantastic display, smart features that will blow away the Suunto, I don’t get why people like these shitty watches. Buy a Casio G or protrek and you will be happy. Simple

What is wrong with you people.This is not a watch! This is altimeter with function of a watch. Why are you buying it if you don't even climb? It's the 5th review on YT of this product I've been watching and none of the reviewers focus on the main options this "watch" has to offer.
@carl64057 жыл бұрын
Biggest problem with these watches is the button's sticking. I have a feeling they all have or will have this problem. I have this watch too, and had to send it off to get repaired. After 3 months and many phone calls later, they replaced the watch with a new one. I may just sell it and buy a comparative Casio. When I got my new watch back, I looked on the back of the watch and see that these are no longer made in Finland, but are now made in China, "designed" in Finland. Great looking watch and features, but poor interior build quality.

You guys did watch the video right? He did say that this problem is known to happen to others, and there are websites/forums dedicated to fix this problem, and if this problem is that frequent it might be a design defect. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKPEdJuepdOcaMU also, there's this guy that tells us that after 2 years, he has the same problem. Also the colour around the ring, is gone. And that kinda tells us that the overall design and material used are of poor quality for a watch this expensive. I've seen CASIO watches review after 7 years, a ton of them. Didn't see problems with the paint job.

Easiest way to fix this watch is to place it on a slab of concrete then get another slab of concrete and smash it to pieces then pretend you weren't stupid enough to buy a toy soldier wannabe watch with jamming buttons and an altimeter and compass that is about as accurate as asking a stranger " hey dude how high do you think we are??"
