Suzanne Somers always seemed to be a "What You See Is What You Get" type of person, when interviewed. And this vulnerability also seemed to come across in the portrayals of her characters--an authenticity. I'll never forget when she was asked by Johnny Carson why she wrote her book of poems, and she replied, "To make money." This response stunned Johnny for a moment and then he said something like, "Well, that's an honest answer." It was a revealing moment for the world to see someone so honest and forthcoming--including Johnny.

@mandybradley3079 - Tammy Faye Bakker lived for many years without treatment. Her children talked her into taking chemo treatments and that is when she really got sick and died. Tammy tried her best to get the word out that cancer treatments don't work. It's a billion dollar business giving people false hope.

Hi Kara! Loved your interview with our beloved Suzanne! I was and still am so devastated on her passing, but I also appreciate her courage and strength she had. She's truly an inspiration to me. I applaud her honesty and vulnerability. She really made me realize how precious and fragile life is, and even though I'm so sad she's gone, I am looking at it in such a different way now. I agree when she said all the negatives made her strong and were beneficial. Same with me. God bless her and her family, and thank you for this interview. I cried, but also enjoyed it. You have a great way with people. Keep doing what you're doing!

One of the things that I really related to about Suzanne Somers besides, her obvious, beauty and sense of humor is her laugh I dated someone for a very long time that had an almost identical laugh, genuine and wonderful to listen to when I made her happy and she laughed. It would fill my heart, so it was quite a connection mentally for me regarding Suzanne Somers. Also, I came from a very dysfunctional family with alcohol involved when I was very young, so I relate strongly with her about that as well Finally, I went to high school in the town that she was born in or her family lived in so quite a few things that make me relate to her and I offer my sincere condolences to her husband and family

isn't just what you do but what you don't do. Not just what you did but how you did it. Not just what you said but how you said it. Love is so simple yet the simple make it so hard. Love Is full of knowledge yet even the smart don't get it. Love doesn't cost a fortune yet fortunes are spent trying to gain it. Love does demand of you yet you are not willing to sacrifice for it. Those who only seek what love can give and do for them, do nothing for love and others and in such selfish pursuit, in turn rob themselves of love's best gift. Make this year the year you seek to sow love and not just reap it. Be love and not just think it. Do love and not just say it. Talk love and just don't fake it. Seek love and just don't chase it. Embrace it but don't enslave it, share it but don't dare boast in it. Enjoy it but don't abuse it. Free it and watch it come back. Invest in it and watch it pay back. Wash your life in it, light your darkness with it, eat your food with it conduct your business with it and above all else Serve God in it. For whatever love is and is not, it's all of, for and From Him. He is LOVE! " By Steven Gooden

Saying her husband was the best thing that happened to her isn't a shot at her son. A spouse is someone you choose over and over again to love and forgive and they should be (aside from God, your number 1). They are literally your other half. You are incomplete without them. Children are wonderful and beautiful and valuable but the relationship is different. Children are meant to be this living legacy of who you and your spouse are and raised them to be.
@acdcmiami

@@mrsmack5808 A child is a gift from god, irreplaceable and the best blessing a fortunate woman can have. Husbands are replaceable as was the father of Bruce. Statistics say that 50% of marriages end in divorce and I assume a remaining 35% are unhappily married.

Real honest interview….questions were helpful in connecting with Suzanne on a more personal level vs celebrity. Discovered I like Ms Somers a lot more after this interview because of her responses. Appreciate how she turned a lemon (fired from 3’s company) into her own lane by reinventing herself many times and staying relevant. I saw her interview with Joyce Dewitt after many years of not seeing each other. Very moving and she owned her role in her mistake. Class act. RIP Ms Somers…..your celebrity will live forever.

Great call out… I think I came across that too. I imagine it was difficult for Joyce and John to remain loyal to Suzanne and deal with the environment of work and the abruptness on her departure. No winners in a situation like this. In her reunion with Joyce, I could see her regret and happiness on connecting with Joyce again and sorrow for not getting with John before he passed. She was the antithesis of Chrissy Snow. Class, intelligent, confident , and real. I am rewatching her videos and impressed with her body of work and relevance as an entertainer! Cheers!
