You are just great. I love that even though you’ve been doing nails for so long, you recognize that there are things left to learn. Then on top of it you welcome others to educate you. Characteristics of a true teacher and educator.

That was my first thought too. Instead of acting like she knows it all, she'd rather we get an expert to teach all of us. That's the sign of a good teacher. Also Olga's work is amazing, so beautiful.

This is such a true comment. I completely agree. There Are so many people out there that say stuff like "I've been doing this for 30+ plus years, I know what I'm doing" whereas THE SUZIE is more like "30+ years and I still wanna learn". This is why we love Suzie!

So sentimental, it was a very popular technique in Russia circa 90s. That's how artistically inclined girls in my highschool decorated each other's hands during breaks between classes. The less talented ones (me) used glitter gel pens and sealed the design with clear nail polish. I wore roses and my bestie sported a leopard print. Thanks for sharing

It actually suits better if you you are less controlled and more flow-y, and I get the strong indication that Susie is like me. A perfectionist with a need to be in total control of her designs. Back in the 90's I think there was a popular painting technique that was popular amount the home crafter called one-stroke painting. There was a lady that used to Bob Ross type shows on how to do it. So there lady basically took that concept and developed a technique to do it on nails. That's freaking awesome! Its kind of retro in a way but with a whole new twist. I like it, nice lady, nice of her too share the technique. The painting aspect of it is a fairly easy technique, but tad a bit of practice to get the "wiggle" just right 😉

This video was fascinating! When I was in high school my nail tech spoiled me! She refused to ever give me a french( my mother agreed) and almost exclusively used this technique on each nail. She was very intentional about making sure each set was unique and taught me a lot about negative space and that art can exist off a canvas. I will say that her flowers and accents were smaller in scale so the balance was different. I'm inspired to try out some of these larger flowers on my big toe thanks for sharing!
