They are awesome bikes I have a 2006 Suzuki Boulevard s83 with 31,000 runs like a champ a lot of power, and a comfortable ride, never was into motorcycles until I got this for a good price fell in love with it. Sounds amazing with the stock exhaust.

The Boulevard is a renamed Intruder. I have a 1400 and I absolutely love it. It is very torquey throughout the rpm range in all gears. It is ballanced well and has a very low center of gravity. Seats comfortably and handles very well but in tighter higher speed curves you have to really lean into it will scrape the exaust, kickstand and the foot pegs. Has enough power to go 2up well over speedlimit and still have power to pass. Its a great bike. Keep the maintenance up on it and it will run forever.

I have a 1994 / 95 custom VS1400 Intruder which is extremely similar to this bike and I absolutely love it. Plenty of power, nice smooth ride, and sounds beefy as hell! Also a great bike for a shorter rider. I’m 5’ 3” and have no problems standing at stops, shifting and maneuvering. All in all, a very decent bike. Highly recommended.

I own an 05 S83. Very reliable fun bikes to ride. Not overweight and more of a mid sized bike with a bigger engine. its actually the old Intruder which was in production since the 80's. It's really more of a chopper than a cruiser with the S model. They detuned this newest version from the earlier Intruder somewhat. The old Intruder VS1400,,same engine,,was capable of high 12's in the 1/4 mile..this newer model is only capable of mid 13's stock with a good rider. The hydraulic clutch is my only complaint with the bike. Its a common issue with all of them of being grabby when taking off. Rev match on a downshift on wet pavement also in the lower gears as it will lock the rear tire. The only problem I ever had,,,right now in fact,,is the stator burned out,,no big deal to replace,,and it is a common issue from what I have read..Great bikes for anyone for a cheap price. I'm 50yrs. old and have mostly a dual sport/super moto background as I am an off road rider first..I had a few sportbikes over the years as well,,but the S83 is a fun weekend rider.

@@adventurer9023 Depending on where you're from that can be a fair price or extremely high even with low miles. My bike was bought used with only 5000 miles on it from a dealership as well back in 2009. It was a 2005 model and it was listed at $5000 US way back a decade ago. Top condition low mileage bikes like an S83 shouldn't be more than $3500 range tops...But like I said depending on your area and local pricing, plus dealer mark ups....If you like it a lot and test ride it offer them 4200 cash and try to get it down at least to 4500 if you decide to buy it...good luck

Don't worry about your weather. We, in CA, just had a 4 day period of rain and it's coming your way!!! Enjoy the rain, we are clear today and a little cold (in the mountains). Nice bike. BTW, I have a little man in my head singing to me so who needs speakers. My shirt says, "You're just jealous because the voices are talking to me." Don't need speakers.

I got 2 intruder 1400s one 94 4sp and other is a 02 5sp. I love them both and a blast to ride, its a more powerful less weight sporty, Harley guys always asking me what they are when I hit the gas and the whole frame lifts up, I have 2" pipes on the 02 sounds incredible

If you're going to talk at length about the riding position and the foot controls, you should know that this bike has aftermarket forward controls. That may have something to do with all the missed shifts too.

You can not ride for 4 hours in one go. You need to stop an refuel after 1,5 to 2 hours at normal road speeds. The very small fueltank with the low fuel milage is a real dealbreaker. Going down the German Autobahn at 95 mi/h you have no more then one hour riding time before you out of fuel. The VS 1400 is still my all time favorite bike but its only good for sunday cruises in or around town. You need a second bike for longer distance cruises with a higer topspeed to be able to ride relaxed. Maybe get a Vstrom 650 that does 125 mi/h topspeed and then you can ride at 105 mi/h for hours on the Autobahn
