Thanks for your videos! I have the same DF 2.5 MY 2011 and it had the same symptoms. Now the carburator is washed in US-washer and the idle is adjusted properly. Works really well now. I use it on my Kopukka 530 boat and they did well in 6 m/s wind on a big lake.

BeMoreBear, Thanks for the great video series on the Suzuki 2.5 outboard. I had the same problems with mine. I never thought of using ultrasonic cleaning of my carb. Good idea, and I'm glad it worked for you. I'm going to repost what I wrote for your earlier video for those who want to know what worked for me. Short story, I bought a new carburetor. I have the same motor DF2.5 2009 for my Multi23 Trimaran. I live in Seattle, so moderate climate and at sea level. My engine would never idle except with some choke on, even when warm, and would quit when I needed it most. I cleaned the carb and changed jets. Maybe ait performed a little better. I ended up just purchasing a new carburetor online, plus new gaskets. CARBURETOR {MODEL:08~} 13200-97J40 With the new carb, it ran nearly perfect. Also, the recommended idle RPM is higher than your ear may tell you. I bought a tachometer and found out that I was trying to set the idle RPM too low. So I set it to factory spec, 1800-2000 RPM. It ran much better. But I agree with you that it is best to keep the idle as low as possible. Sad story now. My Suzuki 2.5 fell in Lake Union (freshwater) last week, and the divers just retrieved it. I found your channel looking for maintenance advice. Taking the engine apart, I found water in the carb, crankcase oil and fuel tank. Removed the spark plug and turned the engine upside down and more water came out. Sprayed everything with WD-40, carb, cylinder, intake manifold. When I drained the crankcase oil, the engine was upright on a stand. I decided to move and tilt the engine all around, and I was surprised how much additional oil and water came out. Spark plug was black and oily, I cleaned it and gapped it. So I'm going to fill the crankcase with new oil, briefly run it, drain it, and repeat a few times. Wish me luck. Thanks for the great video's. Please keep it up!

Good luck. I tried to find a carb but couldn’t find one. The next video shows it in a ultrasonic cleaner and that worked. Now it’s a great motor.

Great to see another film out. New to boating and the films are educational to a newbie. Thanks👍👍

Really well done videos. The full service video is great as well. FUEL FILTER.... yes, despite there seemeing to be no filter, it is there. Its incorporated into the fuel tap assembly. No water separation, but there is a fine screen filter..... There is a capped off idle mixture screw set way to lean from the factory. There's videos on removing that cap so you can get to the screw. Adjusting that screw makes a world of difference. Warming up a motor for 5 minutes? Needing choke to start a warm motor? Having to apply choke to get it to idle/run? Not being able to engage gear and open throttle reliably without it bogging down and stalling? All to make it run on and emit unicorn farts so the Californians don't die..... please......... Adjust that screw after cleaning everything, idles reliably at 750-800 revs, also able to engage throttle and power away.

I'm still laughing at Unicorn farts. I couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks for the info- your exactly right!!

They are good motors. Its been a bugger to get fixed but i do like it. Being so light its so easy to take anywhere.

Hi, my 2.5hp was in storage for 5 year and would not run without choke. I have cleaned the carb twice and changed the oil. Still the same issue. I will not rev at all without dying. Could the spark plug be my issue? Many thanks. Good video 👍

Wow - I wish I could spin my S2.5 like that. When I spin it around it always stalls. I have to gently, gently go 180 or it will cut out. Fuel slosh in the float floods it out?
