Got the same bike, had no idea what kind of a deal I was getting it really is a unicorn
@TulaneAve22 күн бұрын
I've owned a lot of bikes over 40yrs. My DR is probably the simplest, most reliable, cheap to own bike I know of and still performs. Fun to ride.

I picked up a 99 DR350SE a few days ago. Mine has 7300 miles and came in Fantastic shape, like New almost. I was Thrilled. Don't know about a Unicorn bike But its Definitely the Unicorn of the DR series of motorcycles.

ill be picking up a 98 dr 350 soon, got a good deal on a low mileage one that was owned by a mechanic buddy of mine, think it will work out pretty well as a commuter/light trail riding bike, wasn't aware of the adjustable shocks and good to see it getting up to 70 on the highway without too much effort.

those 350,s are great bikes. i have a dr 650 and a 350. i usually jump on the 350.. my 350 has dg pipe which is or was loud. i made a homemade silencer for it, that tamed it down some. also has acerbis 4. whatever gal tank , renthal bars , dunlop 606,s and just recently put led headlight in it..

Nice!! That’s one thing mine needs is a pipe and also some knobbies. Previous owner had just put a brand new set of street oriented tires on it 🤦🏼♂️

Have a 99 dr350 as well. Checking oil is kind of tricky. You check it about a minute after you finish riding. Dipstick right by steering tube. Love mine.
@DirtRider22a4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I rode it around the yard for a few min and checked it and it was barely touching the stick, went out for a 5 mile loop on the road and then checked it and it was at the full line, will definitely take some getting used too

Not sure, mine ran pretty good with the stock carb, no lack of power. Not to say it wouldn’t run way better with the carb swap

it's not correct that only 95 models and up came with 6-speed. ALL DR350 models always had 6 speed transmissions. Older models (early 90's) had lower 1st gear, but they all always had 6 gears!

@@DirtRider22a no worries..:-) I am just watching your video, it's relaxing to watch you ride itand talk about the bike. DR350's are great. Mine is sitting all clean and nice in the garage now (i just finished changing the oil on it)..:-)

I have the same bike too. We have a 1998 version the 99 had a different color scheme. I put the dirt version carb on mine. They call it the pumper carb.

I've owned and ridden a 93 350s for 20 years, it's one of the best bikes I've ever owned. I just bought a 95 for parts and may change mine to electric start. I don't mind Kickstart but I'm not a young fellow anymore.

They are great bikes in my opinion from the limited time I have spent on one compared to you. How do you like the Honda hunter cub?

Anyone able to compare it to a Honda XR 400 R? Am contemplating either, or perhaps a DR400
@DirtRider22a Жыл бұрын
I’ve owned the drz400, never ridden a xr400. Between the 350 and a drz400, I would choose the 350 every time assuming the bikes are similar in quality, price, and mileage

I'm considering trading my 92 cr125 for a 1991 DR350. I'm torn if I should do it because my CR is a blast to ride but there is a big part of me that loves to go and explore and I don't get to ride my CR often enough because it isn't street legal. What do you guys think?
@DirtRider22a2 жыл бұрын
That’s a tough one, I had a 99’ cr250 as a teen and it was a blast for sure, but being able to hit the street and the trail is a big plus for the Dr
@Micscience2 жыл бұрын
@@DirtRider22a I think overall the ability to explore trumps the extra take off speed and trail worthy value though I am still torn thanks for your opinion brother.

Isn’t that something, the new Klx300 and the new Crf are bragging about 6 speeds and 28ish horsepower. And your bike is still under 300 lbs. I saw one for sale lately but it was beat.
@DirtRider22a4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I’m really curious why Suzuki stopped production when they did, however I assume it was because they were selling so well that they decided to improve it, hence the drz400 the following year or 2. But I’ve owned a drz400 and I didn’t care for it 🤷🏼♂️
