Brilliant riding. If I left my DR with you for a few days do you think you could train-it-up to that sort of level for me? Happy to provide my DR, in good mechanical nick, fully kitted with camping gear in low-slung soft panniers, a full 30 litre tank of fuel and with fresh Dunlop 606's. My DR is not a novice but could do with some specialised training - especially jumping (large) logs, riding across moss-covered rocks and negotiating deep water with concealed, slimy, twin track ruts etc... Happy to leave the bike for a longer period of time if that is required. Many thanks.

Nice bit of riding! Wish I had someplace like that closer to my home near Toronto. I have a 1991 DR650 and a 2018 KTM 1290 Super Adventure R. Completely different ends of the adventure spectrum. The KTM is amazing, with a motor that makes me want to take it to bed with me. The DR has been my solid ride since i bought it in 1992. Doesn't even have electric start. I'm considering selling the KTM, it's just quite large and quite heavy, and prepping the DR for longer trips. I have done quite a lot of work on the DR, but it's geared more like a big trials bike right now. I've done the front forks but the stock rear shock could use some work. Wish it was a 6-speed, the 5-speed tranny is one of the dumbest things Suzuki did, and continues to do.
@SKIDSnSTUFF3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Randy! We are pretty lucky here with the wide open lands right out the front door. I find the DR pretty capable for most things with the right gearing (15/44) but definitely get a good tight revalve on the rear shock, that in itself could be the single best change on the Warpig

This is where us old guys run into problems. I have been riding motorcycles since I was five years old. I am now 60. I’ve had every kind of four wheeler. Side-by-side dirtbike street bike you name.I probably had one at sometime. I sold my DR 650 when I moved to the beach, I wish I had not have but trying to ride a 330 pound motorcycle in the sand with dual sport tires is a recipe for disaster. You better be an a class rider because what you were watching this man do you will not be able to replicate and will probably end up in the emergency room if you’re lucky. That being said an awesome bike for what it’s made for, but don’t think you’re buying a dirtbike. You could also reference this for the T7 Tenere a 450 pound dirtbike. Get out of here.Less then 1% of the population can ride these things off road like that and it ain’t you or me.😂

Hey friend, this is one of my favorite videos. Sorry for so many questions. I guess you upgraded front suspension, did you change the springs? Did you go with straight rate or progressive? The things is I’m checking the springs and the next range for me would be 0.52 145 lbs to 185 with gear and luggage but I’m thinking about going to the next one 0.58 which is 56% stiffer than stock. Can you please tell me how did you choose your spring and why? Sorry if I asking too many questions
