Hi guys,a couple of things I didn't mention in the video.Bashplate and side protectors are from B&B engineering,have changed the stock indicators to LEDs,and tires are Continental TKC 80 front and Shinko 705 rear.Thanks and enjoy.

Nice DR Bro. Thanks for the putting the ProCycle disclaimer in there. Unfortunately it's to late for me, but It may help a new DR owner. Haha

After a little research, it APPEARS that you have the 20liter tank, and not the 25 like you mentioned. The 25L tank travels further forward. You have the 5.3 gallon. Ben

Hey doc, one thing I didn't see that's fairly cheap and essential if you go offroad is case armor. The magnesium engine cases are really susceptible to getting bashed in with a lever or whatnot and you'll spill out and that's it for you on the trail. I also got a rear master cylinder plate from JNS too that I recommend. Wish I had that TM40 but a 150 main jet and airbox mod has placated my needs at the moment!

@drsous6400 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the heads up man have added some case armor to my list.The TM40 works awesome but from what I understand a re jet works just as well if you get it dialled in good,when I bought the TM40 I wasn't game enough or brave enough I suppose to pull a carb apart so went for the plug and play option.Thx for watching.

It's worth the upgrades..best most bulletproof bike ever..altho I recently crashed that bike and punched a hole through the motor..my dad sold me his for a grand and I put all the aftermarket on it to make the same bike.2 bikes..still less than a ktm.best bike ever😎

Getting hooked on ProCycle can be dangerous to the bank account 4Sure my yellow PC sticker collection is starting to pile up..LoL... Good move on the carb swap I made the mistake of just doing the rejet kit & its ok but Im not 100% happy with it.I will play with it & adjust it more till I get the other parts I want (on the very long ProCycle DR650 Wish List) but getting a better carb will be in my future 4Sure.... Good Vid & Very Cool Father/Son DR650 Combo

Thanks mate yeah I'm really happy with the tm40 carb the fact that procycle set it up for the exhaust mods etc was good also, meant I didn't have to mess with it but it came with a bag of jets so if I need to I can.Glad you liked the vid:)

My mate however, who also has a Dr, really dislikes it😕 All good 👍 By the way I like your orange bark busters too, I've personally gone black, but its all about making it your own😉 Think Im gonna have to follow you on the staintune route, fmf & yoshi are cheaper, but again, personal taste👍 Love your vids mate!!

Nice review. I am thinking of buying one of these and just wondering what is the rough cost of parts for the power and suspension mods that you have done. I am from Aus the the the value of the dollar should be similar. Trying to work out if is more cost effective to buy the DR and do the mods or just buy a more expensive bike.
@drsous6400
@drsous6400 7 жыл бұрын
Thx mate.There are two ways to go about the mods on a DR for power.I chose the expensive way with the stain tune full exhaust (from Aussie $902.26 less shipping) and TM40carb from procycle USA ($459.95 US less shipping) The Plex valves In the front forks were AUS$249.00 less shipping.Twin air filter $30US etc.So it starts to get relatively expensive.I bought the bike new for just under $9000NZ inc onroads etc and they threw in the acerbis tank for free so that saved $500 or so.Bashplates racks side guards etc from Aussie B&B engineering a grand or so.The other way is buy a good one second hand,buy a jet kit for the stock carb $100 or so, grind down the header weld and open the airbox.Even if you buy one new and do all the shit i did Including seat,bars etc( All up less than $14000NZ ) your still well below the $16-$17 grand you would need to spend for the equivalent KTM which is basically what you would have.And even then you probably would want to mod the ktm anyway.I had the same question before I bought my DR and to be fair I never expected to have spent as much as I have but Im not sorry I did (and theres still more to do LOL).Buy a DR mate.hope this helps:)

Please HELP someone! I just got a 14 dr650 and when I was riding the other day it died out on me when I was in 4th. Figured out it had a bad battery so I got a new one but the same problem persists. The bike will turn on...eventually, but only stays on for about a minute then turns off. Also when it's on and I press on the throttle it seems as though it wants to turn off, when I close the throttle it goes back to normal.

Hi mate,a few things to check...side stand or clutch safety switches (known to have issues) Blocked vacuum tube from fuel tank to carb,..Blocked fuel filter in fuel inlet on carb,dirty,blocked,or obstructed air filter,..Check the black vent tubes that come out of the back of the carb (they end down by the rear swingarm) aren't blocked or kinked,The fuel tank vent cap may be blocked....if none of these fix the issue then its probably a carberator jetting or fueling issue.

Seriously, you would think that all the years Suzuki have been making this model of bike and hearing the same complaints from owners about the shit foam that they use for the seat that they would make a change to the foam compound..... seriously !

Hi, what brand and model is your seat?
@drsous6400
@drsous6400 7 жыл бұрын
Hi,the seat is a sargent world sport seat.they come in 2 thicknesses regular height and low,(about an inch difference).I got the regular as I'm quite tall 5/10 and can almost flat foot the bike, I've also raised the suspension back to standard height.I ordered the seat from procycles website it was $369.95 US less shipping cost.Thanks:)

Thanks mate,the main reason I chose the DR was My dad has had his for ages and having learned to ride on a DR I was already familiar with it so was an easy choice for me.Also many reviews have said the KLR isn't as capable offroad And I've ridden a DR offroad and (suspension aside ,to soft,my next upgrade) I know it to be quite capable.sorry for late reply hope this helps....also both the KLR and DR are good bikes stock but be prepared to spend a little money on upgrades,unless you plan to upgrade to a better bike later:)
