I'm stoked you got something from the video. The DRZ400 has its limitations, but it's a lot of fun and easy to own if it meets enough of your requirements.

I have an 08 400s and its great off the highway. Looking at getting a new one, i want more. But i think ill keep the drz and do some offroad. I just dont want wreck my only bike in the dirt.

I understand that line of thinking, but they hold up fairly well to the abuses associated with trail riding. Be careful not to over think it! 🤙

Thank you for your good video. What do you think about change final drive ratio for more top speed? Is that work?

Interesting 0-60 results! Not a big difference for street riding, but it could make a huge difference on the track! How effective do you think a windscreen might be for improving the DR-Z's aerodynamics? If a windscreen were the key to breaking the 100 mph barrier, would it be worth it? 🤔
@FishStick_ADV Жыл бұрын
Any advantage you can find on the track is a win! That's an interesting thought; I've never even considered how a wind screen would effect top speed. The funny thing is, I've conversed with guys who've broken 100mph with room to spare on their DRZ400 without any aerodynamic mods. It seems like top speed is largely condition based. Rider weight/size, performance mods, environmental conditions, etc.

Taking off in 2nd must be harder on the clutch, but in saying that you can't kill a DRZ! Maybe one tooth down on the front with a 2nd gear take off could get a high 4?? I imagine one tooth down would create a bigger wheelie in 1st.
@FishStick_ADV8 ай бұрын
That’s an interesting thought. one tooth down up front using second gear. Would be cool to see if you could get into the 4s with that combo.

I Love the looks of them, but I'm torn with also the Tenere 700 and MT09. I need another bike to go 100k miles reliably.
@FishStick_ADV2 ай бұрын
@@NoName-c4y7h man I feel that. The Tenere and MT09 seem like extremely good machines. The DRZ400 will never make it 100,000 miles reliably. Honestly for 100,000 reliable miles you might be looking for a goldwing. 🤣

That headlight looks really bad for night riding. Definitely need to upgrade that if you ride at night.
@FishStick_ADVАй бұрын
The OEM headlight is dreadful. On the road where all other autos are using HID and LED technology, this might as well be an oil lantern. On the trail, you can see farther by feeling whats in front of you with your hands.

Well, yes, it sort of. As far as light adventure bikes go there are some faster models, but they don’t get significantly faster until you jump up to a KTM690 or Husqvarna 701 but those are in a bit of a different league as their engines and gearboxes are more street oriented. Depends on what you want. Top speed in the true light adventure “street legal dirt bike” category isn’t typically much over 100mph without modification.
