Hello! Thank you for being with us on Zig! I missed out on two things: 1) Top Speed - 154kph! Gets there without hassle. 2) Slipper Clutch - no, it doesn't have one. And Ryuyo! That's where Suzuki has a top secret test track. It sits right on the coast.. and incoming storms and winds make it a tough place to ride at times - even in a straight line! Suzuki test all their bikes there and in all kinds on conditions. The stamp of Ryuyo gives them that sweet handling. We first rode the Gixxer SF (2015) there in pouring rain! Even most Suzuki employees do not get to see it/ride there. It was a real privilege. It's one of those magical places the power of which can be felt around the world. Thanks once again! Got my bike sf 250 couple days back. Went for a 30km drive. Comfort is superb..no back pain at all. However right side lot of vibrations..and tingling in hands after 30km ride. Maybe bcos its new? Braking performance especially front brake is simply -a m a z i n g! Vibey between 4000 and 4500 rpm in 3rd gear. I didnt use beyond 4th gear as top speed to not exceed is 55km to allow proper break in. 3rd gear is very tall so in city you dont need to frequently change the gear. Also 4th gear and above is only for highways. City speed does not exceed 35kmph .. the engine is not much vibey at this speed. Front head lamp is simply amazing. Very bright illumination. Mirrors are perfectly placed. Right side mirror vibrates in neutral but not when driving. Indicator switch is bit clunky. Gearbox is a bit clunky upto 3rd. Getting to neutral is easy. I guess most vibration issues do get resolved when bike is driven more than 1500km and after first service. So fingers crossed. Cornering stability is awesome! Overall great bike. Hope this feedback helps.

Hi Karthikeya, Ryūyō is a town located in Iwata district, Shizuoka, Japan. Suzuki has its R&D Center located in Ryūyō were all the newly designed vehicles are tested before going to production. Suzuki has named some of its Special Editions after its Ryūyō R&D Center.

Dominor is undoubtedly good bike. But this bike is for people looking for fully faired sporty bike without compromising the comfort. Another advantage is that the bike is manufactured by the company that makes Hayabusa. Btw great review by Karthikeya.

it generates 26ps from 250cc engine without liquid cooling. it's fantastic engineering. no liquid cooling means reduced maintenance cost too. it sits exactly centre between fz250 and cbr 250. It ll make people to rethink before buying above category bikes. eagerly waiting for comparison with other 250cc bikes

Headlights feel like love it or hate it design. Hope they have increased the seat room as it was very cramped. I dont know why everywhen is comparing with fazer 25 because fz25 is the one on sales chart.

Kartikeya just one question.. don’t you think spending 4k more for dominar at 1.74L ex showroom makes more sense.? Extra power at 40 ps USD forks radial callipers with that huge road presence for just 4k more makes it a good deal.. its just fairing vs non fairing comparison otherwise one would choose dominar over this overpriced bike..

Easily, Dominar 400 is better almost in every term of comparasion. But here the bikes are literally of different design. One is a naked touring machine which has best VFM at the moment. My friend owns one which is 2017 version and he used to say bajaj guys regularly used to take inputs from all its customers and have weeded out the previous faults. The current 2019 model dominar is just best in class. Having said that Gixxer SF 250 comes in a faired racing bike+ make-a-shift sports tourer bike segment currently dominated by CBR 250 and Apache 310RR. 1.7 lacs is a bit on pricy end but then at 250 single cyclinder setup, it is definitely a good bet. At the end it depends on a customer as to what the needs are. If it is for road-presense, then it becomes very subjective as looks are subjective. But if it is for sports touring+commuting, sf250 makes sense. And it is for long haul riding, then Dominar is best.

Depends on what you want out of the bike. This bike can be a decent commuter with an aerodynamic fairing. If I wanted a commuter motorcycle which I could use for weekend breakfast rides, I would happily invest in the gixxer 250 than the Dominar. Ofc dominar has so many features but it's heavy and sips a lot more fuel. Let's not put vfm factor into everything. It kills diversity and uniqueness of motorcycles.

*RYUYO* :A small but famous place located close to Hamamatsu, Japan. It's Suzuki's development center which has an off-road track and a road course which is the fastest test track in the world. It’s basically where most Suzuki motorcycles are developed. So you're saying that this bike is designed at Ryuyo?

Looks like Suzuki reads all our comments. We always wanted sensible upgrades from Yamaha on FZ250 at the launch, like six gears, gear position indicator, and five bhp more power, looks like Suzuki was listening to it. Awesome. Waiting for Yamaha 's response .

@@sounakmallik4725 this engine made only for Indians.. Because GSX engine a pure sport engine and it's not suitable for indian roads and even 150cc engine of gsx cost around 1.6 L exshowroom.. If they launch, it will get a big flop for a high cost.. And Suzuki has less fans in India, and if yamaha launches the same bike, there is many for buying, because yamaha owned a seperate place and market in India and sadly not Suzuki..

I like the design, the headlamp gels well with the design IMO. Nice review, a different perspective. For most people who ride this in city/highways, I dont think a slight dip in handling sharpness will make a big difference. And now onto the important part, when can we expect a comparo of the SF250/CBR250/Fazer25 also maybe RS200 ( i know its a 200 but in almost on par in power)

here is no slipper clutch, the foot pecks is straight so one will not feel hes riding a sports bike. There is no upside down suspension in front which looks little ugly. Seating position is not that killer compare to r15, rc 200 or rs 200. Overall ok bike not that impressive.

Honda was treating us with CBR 250R a mature motorcycle but old and needs an update. With 300R it went over pricy. Gixxer 250 seems to be blend of both, post success of the Gixxer 150, Suzuki is moving with maturing times 👍🏻 Need to see a long term review and review of the pillion seat. Styling same as 150 is a mix bag

@@sadhamhussain4663 Both have almost Identical specs for Power and torque.I haven't taken a test ride of Gixxer 250.But it has to be good ,no doubt. You should take test ride and decide which suits you. As far as my case ,am fully satisfied with my 2018 CBR with Memorable 15k kms covered till date.No issues at all...

Sir my family has been a Suzuki hysterical..family from Ind Suzuki. Shogun.gixxer and Lets..but I thought it would have been twin cylinder..it would have been a greatest bike of all time with liquid cooled..sorry it's kinda below average for a country like India..when you can provide twin cylinder to Indonesia...sorry...but for..people who accepts everything they can buy this..no offense...😬

Suzuki should have made the bike look different to the new 150 sf . It seems suzuki ran out of design options. Its sad that the both 250 and 150 looks same. I am now awaiting the naked 250 gixxer !!! Who else wants a 250 cc suzuki naked ???

Which is a good bike to highway cruising at 100-120 kmph?my budget is maximum 2.5 lakh (on-road - rajasthan) ? i need something reliable. so i dont want Royal Enfield or Bajaj. My daily run is 45-50 kms. Out of which approx 30km is highway. and on weekends its 500-550km highway touring. Priorities are: good top speed,build quality, performance and comfort.

I have to buy my first bike. Have a budget of 1.6 and was thinking to go for r15 but now thinking this might be better cuz I'm 6'2 and legs space isn't much in r15 for me. Is it worth paying 2 lacs for sf250? Will it last 5 years without much expensive maintaiance? Or should I just go for r15
