The way you ride, with regard to other traffic, it surprised me that you are still alive.

Why is it that people always seem to have to post negative comments about other peoples riding. We all ride differently. The camera always screws perspective and is misleading. Undertaking is legal in a large number of countries around the world and it is safe to do so.

This was my first bike in the late 70s. It was so exciting that I went through chains and rear tyres fast and it was more expensive to run than my Datsun 140J. I had to keep adjusting the points every 200 miles which was a pain on a long journey. I used to do 85 mph everywhere and now I have a 150cc chinese bike I do 85 kph everywhere.

Yup ,had the same problem with adjusting the contact points,loved the big tank looks and old school feel.

Great video I had a Suzuki GT250A in 1979 same colour and specification. Nice to hear the exhaust sound and induction roar. A good start in the biking world. Neil Radford

Lovely bike! A friend of mine had one in the 1970s, and I occasionally rode it.

My first real motorbike. Nice to see one still being used. It would have been nice to have seen the bike at the start of the video. Happy riding

Your rev counter doesn't appear to work. Wearing gloves might also be a good idea ?

Passing on the inside is not a good idea keep doing it and you will find out why.

Poor road positioning and overtaking (undertaking) at inappropriate locations. Thank god that you don’t own a larger capacity i.e. faster bike. Also, i suggest you learn the locations of all the nearby A & E departments as you are going to need to visit one soon.
@MichaelZZRrider4 жыл бұрын
Do you think you are really clever with those comments? Could he have positioned himself better. Yes but the camera is not positioned at eye level so you have no idea what he can see. Undertaking is legal and normal in many countries.

I had one in the mid seventy's. barely make it past 60 mph
@mikeymike32405 жыл бұрын
I had the first one in northern Ireland in April 1973 , the cops got me for speeding on it with the radar gun, 96mph. Would do 60 in 3rd. Must have been something wrong with yours.
@MichaelZZRrider4 жыл бұрын
@@mikeymike3240 Mine would not do that speed but laying on the tank on a good day it might reach 90
@robertklatt98923 жыл бұрын
@@mikeymike3240 I agree. I had the 1975 and it showed 110 mph on the speedometer. Years later, online, some say speedo was off by about 10 mph...but still, what a quick two stroke for such a modest size. My first bike, I rode it in the mid eighties in Ottawa, Canada. I really miss that old kick-start.
@neilradford37603 жыл бұрын
You need to read the Suzuki specification. If the bike is correctly maintained you will not see 100 Mph, but very close. I didn't suffer gear change problems other than engagement of first at low speed. Neil Radford

Had one of those years ago. Was supposed to be about the slowest 250 out there. I had a gt250 that went like stink in first gear, then bogged down in second due to the massive gap in the gears. It was still very quick. I took on a two up Honda 400/4 and just left it standing. A friend of mine had a gt250 when I owned an RD350. It was faster on acceleration and there was not much difference in top speed. On paper the Honda super dream was faster than the GT. A GT250 would leave that behind with no effort. Also, to put this in context, whilst on my slower RD350, a Yamaha XS750 raced me from the lights and was so far behind, decided to ride like an idiot to get in front.
@Rebel079797 жыл бұрын
Here's how I remember.. it was a toss up between the gt 250 and the rd Yamaha the Honda dream was sluggish by comparison and the slowest was the Kawasaki 250 . I had the gt 250 my father had Honda dream. So got to ride both way back in 1977
@mikeymike32405 жыл бұрын
The Honda's were the slowest 250s in the 70s i had the Suzuki gt250, mate had the Honda cb250 and another mate had the jawa sports 250, and it was way faster than the Honda as well.
