Lovely and responsive. I’ve had same problems with my 750 after rebuild. The triple pick up plate failed. But keep having problems with my right cylinder. Lovely video tho

Had one as a teenager, never ran ok as in my ignorance i thought the contact breakers we’re timed for when they closed, wondered why I had to turn the base plate so much to get it to run 😳

I was told never turn the nut on the points side as you risk breaking the plastic gear behind in the case?

Possible, if you have the plugs in and you try to turn the engine over. I did only make a small final adjustment with the spanner.

Hi, I usually fill up with E5, I have put in E10 when I have not been able to get E5 and it runs fine (later diluting with E5). It's the ethanol which is a problem, not very good for crankcase oil seals and other rubber components! Also not all E5 is equal... the bike club I belong to tests the local fuel, for example in May Esso Super 97 RON had NO ethanol but Shell V-Power 99 RON was at least 4% ethanol.

Hello i have problems with spark, my gt gets power to the coils but no spark, are the coils bad or?

Coils can be checked with a multimeter for open circuit, you should see some resistance if good, about 3 ohms from memory, but they can still breakdown under load. Change condenser if in doubt, check your points gap, then timing.

You need CDI ignition system fitted. 🎉

A CDI ignition for the GT380 would require a new stator as CDI requires exciter coils, the ones I have seen don't have any lighting coils (not much space left due to 3 exciter coils required) and are really for racing, hence no lighting coils. Also the kit costs about £450!

Hi, Iam not getting a buzzer beep, how much ever I advance or retard. I grounded the multimeter to frame and lead to white wire. Am I doing something wrong, or do I need new points ?

Have you set your points gap first? If you have check the buzzer is working by touching the test leads together, check ground is good, check continuity of the white wire end to end, check points are actually closing either visually or see if you can slip your thinnest feeler gauge in. Hope you get it sorted.
