@pipeborrero2 жыл бұрын
I mean... yes... while it's the same principle Toyota and Jeep's systems are way better, I guess they've had more time to perfect it and their cars usually count with way more power to play with, meaning that there's less need for aggressive responses.
@BertieJasokieАй бұрын
@@pipeborrero Also more expensive and an extra physical component to go wrong while this is programmed into the ECU with few special parts. Keeping in mind a clutch plate LSD is 4-8x the price of an open diff.

@@BertieJasokie Totally! I simply bough an ARB diff locker and forgot about TC, it now crawls next to modded jeeps with no issue other than it's smaller size
@dumanimjo6095 жыл бұрын
The LSD seems to have a very big downside in terms of off-road control. I would hate to be in a tight situation and have to rely on the LSD to smoothly get me out of it. Might end up being thrown off of a cliff as a result of it causing the car to jump forward. Would have been great for Suzuki to just add a locker on the rear and call it a day.
@fopish5 жыл бұрын
Dumani Mjo it's an open differential tho, limited slip controlled by the breaks. Which sucks for slippery conditions, I'll admit.

Well would help if they engaged 4x4 on the older Jimny, could see there was only traction on the rear axle
@spoonyspoonicus46485 жыл бұрын
You clearly have no idea how a 4x4 without diff locks work. The Front right tire is spinning. Most 4x4`s that have no diff lock or traction control will only spin one wheel per axle if it is off the ground. The power always goes to the easiest wheel to turn with an open diff.

The Amarok front diff has a proper brake lock differential that mimics exactly how a mechanically locked diff works. There is no crazy spinning of front wheels, if you have a front wheel in the air it will rotate at the exact same speed as the wheel on the ground. They all work via the ABS system, it just comes down to how Suzuki has programmed it and they have opted for this now too common crazy solution of spinning a wheel until grip is found. Very easy to break a CV with how Suzuki has programmed their brake lock differential system.

@@BertieJasokie Specifically. The traction control that controls the wheels when the vehicles is stationary/low speed is routed through a different box or a different software, but it's usually the same mechanical link as the traction control that manipulates the wheels when at moderate speed, hence, I'm calling it traction control and nothing else. Why ? Because I don't care about industry names and commercial jargon. In a common language, this is about traction and I said that this vehicle can't physically link the left/right side. To add. I don't like modern cars that have infinite options for various traction control that most consumers don't understand, never asked for and ( sometimes ) can't disengage.

I'd prefer something mechanical. I had a gen 4 Mitsubishi pajero which had the electronic brake/lsd system. It was pretty unpredictable off road. Youd start to slip and then gas it and then it would lurch forward, just like the suzuki here.
