What the problem is, is that most people that have money aren't really interested in off-roading. They are 2 separate things. The thing is built like a tank. Way more so than any of it's competition. This is what most people overlook and in which case has led to exactly zero problems. Other than naturally blown tires.

@@derbigpr500 You would arrive home in the jimny and all you would have to do is some cleaning while the G would have to go to the shop to get fixed. Even in the older version, with a solid axle in the front, the first thing that all of them did was rip the bumpers off. A jimny/samurai will go to places a stock G will only dream of going. The tire to weight and power to weight ration on the suzukis is what makes them soo great. Putting 30s on a jimny is like putting 35s on a G or Wrangler. I do off-road racing every other weekend. I know what i'm talking about. The new w463 was doomed from the start, IFS is for road vehicles, not for real offroaders. If you want a good G for off-roading, get a w460 or an older diesel w461, those are the good ones. Saying that the new G is the best off-roader because of how good the older ones are is like saying that the new lancer SUV is a rally legend because of the older lancer evolution. It's heavy, overpriced, expensive and hard to repair, bulky and weak when compared to the old one. Made for posers and mall crawlers.

The G-Wagon just feels so heavily piggy backed off of the Land Rover Defender where as the Jimny has its own character. That's exactly the problem with these things nowadays, it doesn't matter how good the G wagon, Range Rover etc are at offroading when they cost too much to risk it. The Jimny's cheap and good at its job, like an offroad Miata.

Maybe not in the west. Come to Russia or Mongolia and you will see some real off roading G Wagon’s. I’m not talking about day trip, proper 7-10 days 3000-4000km on varied road (no road).

I literally took a 2017 G-Wagon G63 off-road. And went for hunting with it in the forest, and you are saying that a G-Wagon don't go off-road. I was a bit surprised with its off-road capabilities, I mean the 4WD, three diff locks and the strong suspension really helped it go off-road, whereas a Jimny gets toppled easily even on deep ditch just like a Jeep Wrangler, or worser than a Jeep. So you need to have some off-road skills, it's not that easy.
