I used the chisel method & wow it worked slick & quick ! the Samurai I was taking apart was rusting apart .. & had no difficulty with the screws using the chisel method ! Thanks for the tip !

Never had problems with an impact driver and big hammer

Oh, and in addition, at least for me I have a pretty good success rate with a pair of Vampliers and a torch. $45 for pliers, but they will remove anything. Seriously a must have for anyone with a toolbox.

Did you see my post on the group a week ago where I talked about this and everybody very condescendingly told me "actually they're JIS". As if that makes any difference to getting the rusty, stripped, POS fasteners out. Lol. Wound up leaving that group and joining yours instead.

It seems to me ( and this is what I am planning ) that a hex head bolt in stainless steel with the same threads would be a better replacement than regular steel hex head screws. Also you can leave the bolt heads in bright stainless finish and it will look better than painted bolt heads or bolt heads that are rusting if they are not painted. So, what is the length and thread count of these bolts/screws in the door and tailgate hinges ?

1995-98 use the same soft top and hardware 👍

Yea I like cutting a slot in it and using a chisel and hammer. Every time I take one out I replace it with a hex head bolt.

for most of my Life i’ve owned BritishSports Cars and their doors he’s are held on with Countersunk#3 Phillips head screws that are also a AinInThe Ass i purchased a Off Brand onevfromAce Hardware and that Screwdriver has a place for a Wrench to go on the Shaft as a rule i can get enough tourque to get those Screws to turn very slightly and get themRemoved without damage FYI on Antique British Cars and Motorcycles they use their own Thread and Fastener size known as the Whitworth System that can be difficult to find in the United States and before the Internet buying Taps and Dies was difficult and very expensive you could get some off the SnaOn and other ToolTrucks
