Why didn’t you just do the removable door mod where you cut your hinges?!? It’s simple. Also I used my grinder with a cut off wheel to put a slice in the Phillips head to get it hot and just used a large flat head screwdriver to remove them.

I can still do a few things like that, but I have some ideas I want to try first!

Did the same recently, nothing worked until I welded the nut, I also love the black parts on there 👍👍👍

For heat you can also get a pen torch at most Hardware store. Hotter propane and pen head flame. I recommend heat first because it’s possible Suzuki put lock tight on those bolts. Never wanting to come loose.

Thats a good idea!

One more thing for you backyard guys who don’t know. Stainless bolts won’t rust but are softer than Grade 3 bolts. Don’t over tighten. They WILL twist off.

I dont have a samurai but i love watching videos of different type vehicles. Someone might have a different vehicle but can use same ideas. Really good video. Thank u

Thanks! I appreciate that. I have a few different vehicles myself, so I too like to see what other folks are doing.

I have a burb like yours but not as radical. I really like how you build like your rock sliders and your solid axle swap on the burb

They come out very easy with a tool called the shake and break. It's an air hammer attachment.

I've seen that! I almost made one and then decided to just weld on them. 🤙🏻

My buddy cut the top of his door hinges off on his samurai so he can easily remove it without using bolts. I am thinking of doing that too

I've seen that! I'm trying to figure out a "cleaner" way of doing the mod

Remove that Phillips screws is always a nightmare in the samurais thanks for the advise. Another headache is to remove the square head bolts for the oil drain in the axles, not all the samurais use that kind of bolt. I saw that yours don't, but my samurai uses and like you said I use heat to remove it, then I replace all of them with standard head bolts.

They made me swear and then I went crazy with a grinder. Still have two stuck with no chance of coming off. Tried welding a nut and the nut twisted off 🤦♂️ great vid as always some great advice 👍👍

These bolts may be responsible for 3% of all curse words let out since 1986.

They're JIS headed screws, not Philips. Get the correct bit to fit the head and they come out easier. Philips will just chew them up. I use Vessel branded ones but there are others.

Good thing I only said "philips" like a 100 times. 😅

What length are those bolts?
@FortuneOffRoad4 жыл бұрын
Same length as the stock ones. I just took one with me to Ace Hardware and compared them. 🤙🏻
