Suzuki Swift Motion review | Unbeatable & affordable!

We had an older Swift for years and it was bombproof, nothing, absolutehly nothing went wrong with it and it was really economical. The thrum of the 3 cylinder engine added real character to the driving experience snd it was really nippy for such a small car. Highly recommended. Spot on review Nobby

The car the Fiesta could have been - always liked the Swift, it's a lot of car for a still relatively good price. We're so used to talking about £40k, often more, BEV's these days that this looks really refreshing. I hope it does well.

Cheers Nobby always enjoy your reviews, wheels look a bit bin lid like would be better in a gloss black or white, very similar to the old model with extra kit though a price rise and ordinary rear door handles. We have had a drive in one of these and compared to our SZL which has radar cruise too. Ours mansged a 380 mile trip to Cornwall with range to spare. We want the Sport though come on Suzuki worth mentioning for some employee groups Suzuki will supply at a discount £15k which is Sandero territory i know which i prefer.

I expect Suzuki dealers could have a problem meeting demand. Suzukis are v.reliable and I see some over 20 yrs old in everyday use.

Bit colour sensitive shape but they drive nicely are generously equipped though i couldnt get Cruise to engage over 70 which kind of rules it out for keeping station with fast traffic on motorways.

Interesting, we had 6 in a row Hyundai I/10 cars as our second car. Current model with the Deluxe spec is much higher than the Swift. Pity there are not more Suzuki dealers in Ireland.

I know we've had inflation, cost of living etc. but I can't get excited in any way for a car of that size starting at €21.5k. I get it, it's well specced and will be ultra reliable but realistically, it's almost €5k too expensive here. A grand car vs the competition in the same price bracket but it still baffles me how the price is considered acceptable in general.

I have the previous model SZ5 Mild Hybrid with 1.0L 3 cyl Boosterjet Engine which has 109bhp. Got to say very underwhelmed by the new model, it just looks lie a facelift of my car. Slightly different at the front, and the tail lamps slightly different as well. Interior is almost identical apart from the larger infotainment screen. Overall the car is not that much different. The main disappointment is the engine only delivering a measly 81bhp, don't get me wrong I love my Swift, but to release a new model almost identical with a lesser powered engine that is so much slower is a backwards step by Suzuki. BTW having now had a test drive in the new model a while back and can confirm it is like a snail on valium compared to The 1.0 SZ5 Boosterjet Engine, I was actually shocked at how much slower it was. Again I absolutely love my current Swift as it has everything, but current owners will be massively put off by a ridiculous loss in performance of a so called new model,and many like myself will not purchase this 'clone' of the previous model with a woefully underpowered engine. Again I love The Swift as a car, but Suzuki are giving customers nothing new here, in fact they have gone backwards.

Extreme basic with steel wheels on mainland Europe is cheaper but then its ++ but Irl has high tax !
