I just bought a brand new leftover 2023 that came with the side panniers. I’ve added a centre stand and crash bars. This video is excellent and thanks for the links.

That bike is a beast. Personally I find very clever to buy one of this and prepare it for your needs. You have a really reliable base, enough power and a motor proved to last hundreds of thousands kilometers. And maybe this year its the last chance to get one of these.

Traveling on both a Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro (2024) in the US and the Vstorm in US and Europe. I have done about 4,000 mi on the Tiger and 6,000Km on the Vstorm I can say that the Vstorm is a much more competent touring machine. Its much more quiet and gentle ot ride tough road with.

I had a '17 650, now a '22 XT Adventure. Just returned from a 1000 mile trip 2 up and overloaded with supplies. The little 650 twin pulled steep long grades at 80 mph with ease. Very impressive. This bike handles the mountain roads and the twisties like a champ. All this and still getting 55 mpg. Wouldn't sell it for anything. Long live "V"Stroms, not pstroms. And by the way, I think my black and blue 3rd gen 650 is super cool looking. Parked next to my Z900RS, it looks just as appealing.

I was looking at the 650cc for 2up fully loaded Europe tours, but began to think I'd need the 800RE tour.. maybe the 650XT will be okay for 2 people

How did you attach the foldable highway pegs to the square tube? Any tips or tricks in setting up the pegs, how long is the square tube?
@RichardBergeronmotorcycleАй бұрын
Sorry for the late answer. The Bike is in Sofia Bulgaria now so I cannot measure. The tube is about 18" long, I am thinking of replacing the straight square tubing with a bent metal tube to allow a slight angle to be more comfy.

I have same bike (2021) and most of the same setup. There is just one problem with it. The engine is way too weak with full luggage. But without luggage it is a very god bike.
@RichardBergeronmotorcycle4 ай бұрын
I also have a Triumph 900 RALLY Pro. It's true that they bigger engine is well better with the luggage. But I choose the VStorm to do the silk road since I will need nimble more than power on these small roads up there.
@RichardBergeronmotorcycleАй бұрын
That depend a lot on type of roads, my wife and I with full luggage tour a lot of secondary roads and its fine. Of course on highway its a 650.

Was Tiger 900 the other option, or 800 ?
@RichardBergeronmotorcycle5 ай бұрын
Well... Tiger Rally Pro was the other option and I also got it. I am riding the Tiger 900 Aragon edition on my trip in the US (I am in Kentucky riding right now) and the Vstrom will be used for the silk road. (She is on the boat now). I must say that after riding both for long period of time, the small VStorm does nkt pale at all. Yes the Tiger is more modern and has more HP but it would be hard to choose only one.

Please do a video reviewing the 2024 v-strom itself. They say it's great on highways and the open road. But.... How is it in traffic in towns? Is suspension okay? How tall are you? Is it good for tall riders?
@RichardBergeronmotorcycleАй бұрын
I was busy traveling and did a lot of these travel video. I should do a comparison between my Tiger 900 Rally Pro 2024 and this one. To answer your question, the Vstorm is great in traffic and secondary roads. Took it from Greenville SC to New York all on small road and it was great. We shipped it to Marseilles France and rode it from there to Sofia Bulgaria passing through all through towns in many countries in between. See other video on my channel.

That aux lights bar was a really good find. Thank you, I will add it to my build. By the way, the first iteration of my build can be found at kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKSoZn9pra14aLM - you may find some stuff you like. I went with Koso heated grips too, but my V-Strom version is Australian and there are some differences, e.g. I don't have that much space under the seat, for example.
@RichardBergeronmotorcycleАй бұрын
Indeed that light bar works great. I am curious about teh under seat space, mine has plenty.
@HikeWithABikeАй бұрын
@@RichardBergeronmotorcycle , yours is most likely is the North American variant so you don't have that huge EVAP canister under the seat which ensures the environmental compliance. If you have the official service manual, you can see the description of the system on page 1B-5 .

0:45 V-Strom not V-Storm. If you’re gonna own one, pronounce the name right 😬🤔😉
