This is actually a good anime to get into. There’re quite a handful of things you can take away from it including a few life lessons even. Asuna’s speech to Grimlock is one of those things that sticks with me even to this day. This show always has something new to go back and discover and that’s one of the many reasons it’s such a good story

Dear Suzy from the future, the reason why the dialogue from the almost end that Asuna said doesn't make sense, is because of the translation. What Asuna says is " You didn't love her, you wanted to own her" or "You didn't think of her as somebody you loved, but as a thing you owned" Japanese has so much mean place into a few words, that is hard to translate.
