@@godlyhax4172 no, that's not the situation. a gun is a weapon with a safety toggle, the amusphere is an entertainment headset designed to be safe. it's not just a normal nervegear with a safety, it has different hardware that isn't capable of emitting waves that can fry the brain. it also has extra sensors, and logs you out if it senses you're in an abnormal physical condition. you can read more about it in the SAO fandom wiki.

It was Asuna's parents' own damn fault for driving her to use it in the first place. The real issue is that her mom sees anything Asuna does that's entertaining as a crime. Because she believes it hinders her daughter's progress and potential instead of relieving her of stress. And regardless if the AmuSphere isn't the Nerve Gear, disconnecting Asuna from ALO like that is still bad because if her mom wasn't careful it could've resulted in her getting disoriented, dizzy or nauseated as her consciousness was literally in the game. So I wouldn't recommend doing that unless it was an emergency.

...you should pause the video when you have something to talk about... because you sometimes miss some dialogues... for example, the reason she didn't choose Kirito... you started talking to us just as she was about to say it... That's why I highly recommand pausing the video before talking. While you were talking to us, Yuki was telling Asuna that she didn't pick Kirito because he discovered her secret. That's why you should always pause. It prevents you from missing usefull informations like this one.

That's the whole point. That's why Asuna logged into SAO in the first place. She wanted to get away from the life her parents were dictating in the real world. Her mother's complaint about why her daughter even still plays VR is understandable from a mother's POV. But from Asuna's POV, she'd rather be in there than out here. It's the one place where she can be independent. Her mother failed her as a parent. All she wanted for Asuna is to fulfill a dream she couldn't have. But that's not up to her, it's up to Asuna. If she doesn't want it, don't force her.
