Really not sure about this kind of advice. It only seems to contemplate a situation like yours- working from home (I assume) and homeschooling children. There are women who are doctors on call, cabin crew, women working early morning shifts, international jobs etc. So does the bed remain unmade? Or the bedroom unwashed? I also do not believe that the sanctity of marriage resides in the bedroom. There are whole families that share one bedroom and still make it work. Where does this kind of thing come from because it’s not biblical??
@mkarkim2 жыл бұрын
I am happily married with kids, btw. And I have two domestic employees and a washing machine 😅 I just keep hearing this kind of thing and really wonder where it comes from and what motivates it. Is it fear or insecurity around housekeepers? Is it mistrust of Husbands? If those are the bigger issues then they should be addressed rather than it becoming about who picks up a mop?

Sometimes working 24 hours when needed to dialyze a patient emergently. I am 68 and I am finally worn out and was thinking of getting someone to mop my floors and dust since I have a bad back . I really do not feel comfortable with it but I have trouble walking after doing the floors. I hope to get the courage to get help. It is hard letting people in your house . I think the video is OK but the judgement she has on others who do things differently - is a little bit much. I don't care what you do but don't start shaming other peoples ways of living. I was a housekeeper once and I washed the couples underwear. I didn't care and the owners clearly didn't. It paid for my university!

Throw it in the washer, set it to delicate and press start. Easy! It happens everyday. The point is not whether to wash someone’s undies or not… but the judgement or the disapproval. It’s not right and quite frankly it’s no ones business how others live or why they do what they do.

Great stuff. I like that you are giving a disclaimer.. Because for people who live in small houses two bedrooms where should the helps sleep? Kitchen??????? Many people cannot afford the luxury of Day bug either because of the nature of their jobs. I advise that beds should not be shared even in small houses. If possible get extra mattresses but let each child sleep alone. When I used to live in a small house I ensured I had a small bed, decker and extra mattress. At some point we( My hubby and I moved to the smaller room so that all the others can be comfortable in the bigger room. I think this is more practical especially when the house is not ensuite and even if it is what is the harm to let your children and people in your house be comfortable.

You seem to have a morbid and negative attitude about house helps. Evil lurks even during the day and from experience there are very good house helps who are faithful and God fearing. Most of the cases of child molestation is by close relatives including their biological fathers. The Almighty God is our Keeper and Protector. You cannot watch over your children 24 7. An assumption is being made here that some house helps can abuse children. While some do, there is also evidence that children are abused by family members more than they are by strangers. There is also employers who over use/abuse and overwork their house help and dont pay enough. A job description useful from the outset. I grew up with a wonderful house help and when she got married my mother gave the house help her wedding dress which she loved so much. She was like a big sister we never had. I'm in my 50s now & my mum worked fulltime. We were also allowed to do laundry & took turns to wash dishes with my siblings. While my Mum used to wash their underwear. I remember washing this too, but was never a big deal. I learnt a lot from doing chores as a teenager & has shaped the person I am today. Mutual understanding, respect is key and vetting/references. Unfortunately there will always be bad apples both sides.

Sometimes I wish this content existed in the 1990s and 1980s. This definitely fuels my vision to add nurseries, daycare & preschool at the workplace.

Agreed!!! My mum raised us differently in dealing with househelps and in 3 decades, we only had 3 househelps .. all of whom we are still in touch with .... Out of the points Suzy has said, I only agree with one or two ... the rest I will say ... Do you ... Run and manage your household with respect, love and for those who are christians, with the love and fear of God ... Househelps are human beings whose destiny has crossed paths with ours .... they are a member of the family .... if you can, invest in their children's education, teach (and pay for them to learn) a skill, empower them as individuals and trust me , it will also trickle down in how they are with your children ... its not rocket science ... Strive to be the best human being for your household and the seeds will repay decades to come .... children will learn how to treat helps and even the helps will learn how to work with you, your rules and your children (even if at times they dont get it) ... So yes, different strokes for different folks.

The point of a househelp is to help out, not become a slave to every little thing you can do yourself.

I agree with some of your rules but I take it your really sceptical about these helps but if you can't trust them to bathe your kids or maybe sleep in the same room for those of us who have 2bedroom houses how do you leave them with your 2yr old since your a working mum or when your travelling for work since you mentioned that.

I totally agree with you Vallary! after all, most of these horror stories happen during the day! All your points are valid Suzy, but I think it's just God who keeps our children safe.
@beak39583 жыл бұрын
But if you are away travelling....and your Husband is at work or Biashara? WHO IS LEFT WITH THE KIDS? And if you don't trust the help to wash the babies ans you're home...what happens that you trust them tonstay alone with he kids when you're working

Hi Suzy, your rules are what I have been administering with the exception of cooking. Some of those house helps are surrounded by horrific backgrounds and personalities which in a snap of a finger can ruin an entire family. Also remember to always cover your kids, husband, relatives with the blood of Jesus on a daily basis because only God knows the inner feelings of those people outside some of their pretence.
