I think this is not a spoiler. Targaryens are inbreeding, especially between siblings, to keep their blood pure. Viserys and Daenerys are meant to be couples as they are last Targaryens, which makes the scene much weirder……

I got 3 suggestions to keep in mind if you're planning to react to the full show (pardon the TL:DR, but worth a read imo) : 1) Pacing of the show : Fair warning, this is gonna be a really painful slowburn (which also IS the enigma of the show).You'll need commitment. People often start watching GoT & quit cause they think it's gonna be a TV version of a 300 type blood & gore period movie. Yes there is war & lots of violence, but it is a show about political intrigue foremost. If you're not into political drama (think medieval House of Cards) & don't have the attention span for long-term storytelling, then this isn't for you. This show is a lot more chess and a lot less car chase & explosions. 2) Try not to binge : The scope & ambition of this story is huge. You're dealing with multiple kingdoms, many families, hundreds of characters, with a ton of backstories, all woven together into a rich narrative. It's best to digest it slowly. I know people who ran through the entire show & missed most of the underlying points. The series is really heavy on symbolism & a big part of the GoT experience is speculating on & trying to connect the dots. So give it a little time between each episode or you'll lose the plot on who's related to who & who did what. 3) Moderate your expectation : You're prolly aware that most people hated how the show ended. There's a buncha controversy over the later seasons & you're gonna get some of those comments discouraging you from watching and you'll have the book purists who'll watch just to criticize everything. My opinion is simple. Watch it yourself & form your own opinion. Even if you're disappointed in the end, you're still gonna go through a pretty memorable journey. While a certain understanding of the backstories is necessary & comments are helpful for that, don't get too deep into the wormhole of comments on the past, the reddit theories, debates on book arcs, etc. You're meant to find those out yourself as the story unfolds or it'll ruin the fun of watching the show.
