Like, how you do your vids. Clean and easy to watch. Im a bit of a greenhorn when it comes to bikes. Would like a bit more commentary, but they are your vids, so do you.

How did you get the dowels out of the calipers? I can't get mine out? Any help would be appreciated.

Im new to these but if im being honest, If my goal is seat time, I'd rather buy a used bike with proper brakes and suspension from the get go and upgrade components as I get better coz messing about with this will not only take alot of time to put together and setup, it'll probably cost just as much or more than buying one not to mention when you crash, you have to start the process of sourcing, buying and setting up allover again... Depending on your budget, used bikes like KTM 690R, 790, 890s and 890 Rs, pre facelift MT09 and MT09 SPs, GSX-S750s and 1000s, Street Triples, TONNES of supermotos etc come with decent enough suspension and brakes for 99.9% of riders. And If Im on a tight budget or a beginner, I'd rather get a cheap bike leave it stock and or do the catridge and rear shock upgrade, pads, lines, rotors, tyres, exhaust and ride the bike for what it is. Im not saying im right, this is just how I would go about doing things...

This definitely isn't the smart or practical thing to do. If you want more performance you'd be better off with tuning the stock components. This isn't my only bike so I'm not super worried about seat time. It would be a lot easier to find a comparable size bike for at if not below what I paid for this

@@wombatmoto1938 I hear that... As a side project I understand, but as a track build it just seems like a time consuming money pit. You can also do all this only for someone to blast past you in a stock 400cc😂😂
@wombatmoto1938 Жыл бұрын
Yeah. If it was for the track it would have been some clip-ons, some springs, and a really nice rear shock. Really I just blast around the countryside by my folks house and back and forth to work

Why did you with r6 brakes & master cylinder? Is it better than stock?
@wombatmoto19386 жыл бұрын
Angel Estrada The yamaha calipers are a mono block instead of two pieces and that year master cylinder is made by brembo. The GSXR brake set-up is better than the SVs but the yamahas are better than the GSXRs

Wombat Moto.. Ok thanks for that piece of knowledge.. I currently have a 06 sv650 with 06 gsxr forks and wheel. That's how I bought it, don't know too much about bikes.

What size rotors and what size spacer. As I’m wanting to do this to my k5 750 track bike.
@wombatmoto19386 жыл бұрын
Andi Craig Im pretty sure the oem size is 310. The spacers are from a guy named Zohan at TWF racing. Not sure the size, some guys dont even bother with them but they are only a few bucks so you might as well do it so the whole pad is on the disk.

Which year/model is the GSXR front end?
@wombatmoto1938 Жыл бұрын
It's been so long I forget. I think 07 from a 750. I got them from Brandon's Cycle Salvage. You can find him on FB. He rebuilds them.
