i love the idea of a military-look molle bags for the tank. was just doing a search for people who have done it.

Took off the luggage rack day one. Found a milwaukee drill in the middle of the road yesterday and had to ride home with it in my jacket pocket.

I love the look of the rack! Never once thought about removing it. Svartpilen is supposed to look more rugged, adventurous and 'off road' compared to the Vit. The rack I think compliments that feel nicely
@Snarkyafterthoughts3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the suggestions. I was too practical to remove the rack-I stared at it for a few weeks before I ordered a bag. I now use the $60 Husky enduro bag on it. I keep a water, crappy burner phone, and trail mix. You inspired me to put a collapsible bag under the seat for post office visits.

Exactly what I've done. I attend rallies with camping gear, no worries. Add additional Rok straps to the rear if travelling light and lovely jubly, you're sorted.

The collapsable bag is a good idea but for me I'd rather store a rain poncho and my bike lock under the seat. I look it as what am I going to use more, a bag or rain poncho and a bike lock? I'll use the lock everyday and depending on the season I might use the poncho everyday too. If I need a bag, I'll wear a backpack.

Thanks for the ideas. Got my Svartpilen 401 this past week and these are helpful. You can add more bags as you say, but the specs for the bag carrier limits weight capacity to 11 lbs. Just wanted to point that out.

Something I have done on most of my bikes is to buy a couple of high tensile bolts where the threads stop a inch below the head and put a nylon locknut on the inside.

Im in the research a bike phase still. So havnt got one of these bikes yet but definetly considering it. Im on a klx140g right now and limited where i can legally go and limited by speed as well cause it tops at about 55-60. I also live in southern wv so windy/curvey roads/light gravel/trails. If i am to get one, that first tip seems very helpful and likely will do that.

One of the things that attracts me to this bike is the tank rack. To me it says, "I'm not pretending to be an ADV but you can still carry more than your wallet." I'm not looking for panniers but do wonder: Could a super slim bag be lashed to the trellis frame, or would that lead to despair?

Hey Malt, would you recommend this for a beginner bike? I really love the looks of the Svartpilen. I'm 6' and weigh 185lbs (possibly going back to 210lbs for bulk). Is there a way to add saddlebags on it? I love the bike but I can't seem to find mods to fit saddlebags on it. Also, can it do a little offroading?
@cr4sher72 жыл бұрын
I am about 6.1' and I think I will also try 401 svart. As far as I have seen in other videos Svart 401 is great for some little offroad. Let me know if you bought this bike and how do you feel about it!

Re hack#2… Why would you have to remove the license late mount to use a paddock stand, or use cheap bolts? Doesn’t the bike come with threaded holes for spools?

Thanks for this video. Have a Question about your back handle grip on the seat "I don't know how it calls" on the Svartpilen. where did you buy that grip?
@malt88102 жыл бұрын
I didn't buy that actually. That's the stock grab bar. You can probably get one from a local Husqvarna dealer if you don't have one

Maybe another one about the cheapest/easiest mid or high exhaust to get to increase the clearance?
@malt88103 жыл бұрын
You're not gonna like this answer... but the 2018-2019 exhausts are already mounted around the side rather an under the engine, so I didn't have to deal with that issue. Sorry, I don't have an answer for the newer model years
@scotts1711 Жыл бұрын
Buy the 2019 exhaust system for 2020's and newer. Cover in heat wrap for heat control.👍

what about the 250. can i do the same hacks with it?
@malt88103 жыл бұрын
Assuming it has the tank rack, the first hack would work, the second hack might work BUT it'll almost certainly be a different sized bolt, so check at a hardware store to compare bolts, the thirds hack is all helmet/goggle dependent, and the last hack should work, but I don't know how much space will be under the seat.

@malt88102 жыл бұрын
I always ride with earplugs or noise isolating earbuds anyways, but yes; this will make everything quite a bit louder
@thenexthobby2 жыл бұрын
@@malt8810 As a non-rider, can you tell me what's the noise from if your ears are already covered by a helmet? Wind roar? Traffic? The voices in my head? I'm wanting to start picking up some gear while I save for a bike that dealers never have in stock. I'm an eyeglasses wearer and might not want the extra step of dealing with goggles. Thanks.
@pashachernookiy21242 жыл бұрын
@@thenexthobby Helmet does cover your ears, but the visor of a standard helmet makes wind flow around the helmet and not "through" it which decreases noise significantly. For noise difference reference, imagine being in a car with closed windows and windows opened: not a big deal, when riding slowly in town, however super annoying when on a highway. As an eyeglasses wearer myself, definitely suggest buying a standard/modular helmet with usual vizor. Also, a lot of manufacturers create small "deepenings" for easier glasses fit. I have those in my HJC helmet. Anyway, definitely try helmet with your glasses before buying. Welcome to the moto community:)
@thenexthobby2 жыл бұрын
@@pashachernookiy2124 Thanks Pasha for the warm welcome. I just got delivered a Biltwell Gringo S (I have no bike dealers near me.) It's full-face with visor, but without all the air ducts. The visor does not seal against the opening when closed but my riding will just be putzing around town; no freeway usage. Using their online sizing suggestions I took a chance and it fits nice and snug without any perceivable pain points as far as I can tell. Boots and gloves from elsewhere were a bit less successful in sizing ... my eyeglasses seem to fit well with it also. I'll know in a few weeks how it all goes tother once I get my license and my old bike is up and running.
