Can't believe this moment has finally arrived 🥹 It's such a bittersweet feeling for us...Sooo much excitement for Delos 2.0 and all these big changes in our lives...but also feeling like such a special chapter of our lives is winding down, and that things will never be the same again. But before we can really process any of this, we've got a to-do list that won't quit, and it's a whirlwind of cleaning, organizing, and of course the haul out. Pulling Delos out of the water is always a bit nerve wracking even in the best of circumstances, but this was by far our sketchiest haul out ever! But when the dust settles, and it's finally time to lock up Delos and wave goodbye, it's quite an emotional moment for all of us...especially sweet little Sierra 😢

As Delos was slowly rolling up the ramp and over dry land, I started thinking of all the miles of ocean that had passed beneath that hull. Delos has kept you safe for all those miles. It’s been quite the adventure.

THE PHOTOS: I would take all of them down, not just the faded ones, transfer them into digital format, and replace the "Wall of Fame" with the digital "Frame of Fame". I'd love it if you'd then do an entire episode going through each photo, talking about each individual memory and what impact each person/group has made on your journey, how much you miss them, tell the viewers if you still stay in touch or if they were unique moments/two ships passing. If you have footage of them placing their photo on the wall/activities/memories shared, it could be a great episode. Sentimental for those of us who have been through all the episodes and a possible nudge to those who haven't.

I'm not crying!! You're crying!! While not the true end of Delos, the impending new chapter makes this haulout and departure so much more emotional!! I sit there thinking about all of the adventures on this boat from the amazing dives in the Philippines to the hard sail around South Africa to the hunkering down during Covid in the Caribbean that I realize just how important this channel is to me. We've never met, I've never had the honor of stepping foot on Delos but this is so special to me. Much love!!

I'm not gonna lie, I shed a tear or two while Sierra was saying good-bye. As being a somewhat new inductee into sailing after a week on a seascout trip with my sons Boy Scout troop ai now understand the allure to the life. My wife and myself are putting many thoughts into at least moving coastal and buying a boat. I can only imagine the emotion of leaving your home to start a new adventure. By scanning the pictures - especially the faded ones - you could improve the colour density and then post them on your website, with additional info. Also be nice to hear what each of them has been up to since they were members of the Delos Crew. We already know what Kiril has been doing... editing your videos. brian my friend I love very many things about this video, nugget cam has come such a long way and of course likewise the Nugget herself. Your family and your journey are a constant unending inspiration to me, And all of your hundreds of thousands of other friends around the world. I could go on for ages my friend but I'll tell you my favorite part of this video... Believe it or not it's the fact that the only part of Delos that squeaks, are the knobs that close the companion way. I suspect for the simple fact that it is so very rarely closed, a sign of constant adventure I think. And the fact that it's closed now only proof that the adventure continues. An idea for your wall of fame/shame pictures: Compile them into a chronological journal, or series of journals, of your journey and if it's of interest you could publish the book with a QR code for each picture that links to the the YT episode that corresponds to that picture/s.

Regarding the pics, scan them , adjust contrast and saturation in photoshop, add them onto a larger collage image polaroid style with borders, then print on A4 / Letter photopaper and mount in a UV proof picture frame available from museum suppliers. PS - sad to see the departure of Delos! I may shed a tear before theend of the episode!

A few albums is a really good way to store and preserve the pics. Wrighting what you remember is a brilliant idea, so just do it. Take a few pics every evening moving forward, and then you can start putting them cronologically on the next boat. And Sierra, you ar ADORABLE! /Catta from Sweden

Scan all those documents and save digitally. I scanned lots of old letters written by grandparents and other family members. My siblings were so thankful. I scanned my kids’ report cards and commendation certificates. I scanned grandma’s recipes, written in her handwriting. Yes it takes time but worth it!

Maybe digitise the polaroids and the stories you remember and include some of your favorite images from your travels on Delos into a book we can all buy to keep a part of the story. Then incorporate the actual polaroids into Delos II furniture somewhere.

Boy, did this ever bring the tears! I first discovered Delos in the fall of 2018, four months after my wife of 43 years passed away. I remember how hearing the first notes of Ramukanji transported me to such a happy place, and for twenty or thirty minutes I was in place that helped me put aside the issues I was dealing with. For that, I will be ever grateful to Brain, Kazza and all those who passed through - you all had a huge impact during that part of my life. But life moves on. I look forward to seeing Delos 2’s introduction to the sea - and another chapter begin in the adventure. ❤❤❤❤❤

I had my boat pulled out by trailer 3 times. The last time, putting it back in, it didn't go so well. Everything works great as long as they can line up the trailer property but sometimes the boat just doesn't fit right. My first time was an atoll in the south pacific. I was real nervous. It was very steep and the tractor had to use it's front loader with a chain to give it that extra pull. I remember hearing about these guys (Delos) when I was cruising. Now we are land based and waiting a few years before we can go back out again and finish our around the world trip.....actually, start all over again. I'm surprised they are still at it. I heard they were calling it quits and moving on land due to the baby.

Sailing SV Delos has been the Gold Standard for Sailing channels, IMO. All those photos need to be protected. Polaroids tend to keep developing even in the dark, tho not as fast. I have some that are as old as the Polaroid invention itself and have remained visible stored in the dark, tho they are faded. In the sunlight, I'm sure they are near invisible. Try to get them scanned at least in their current condition, and place them in an acid free book or whatever. Don't use a book with a sticky surface as you will never get them out again. Learned that the hard way. I have 34 photo albums and they are a nightmare to scan.

Sierra is so cute. What about putting all the pictures into a book with pictures and write the memories about the pictures. You could scan the pictures and have them in a digital pictureframe so you can see the different pictures in rotation. You can get some digital pictureframes where you are able to add some notes about the picture.
