HOWTO adjust your Yamaha Tenere 700 suspension properly. In depth explanation how to proceed. If you get too much sag rear (even if dialing in a lot preload), watch this tip:
• Video
I have recently remeasured front sag and the free sag is now 38 mm. It should be 21 mm. Probably increased a bit due to install of the crash bars and some other equipment. Also the rider sag is a bit much. I have decided to order the spacers from Rally Raid and will make an install video later. The spacers is a cheap fix for this: www.rally-raidproducts.co.uk/...

Thank you for making these videos. My 2cents: I have ridden about 200km (mostly 2nd class roads and highway) with Hypepro front springs installed and must confirm that the improvement of bike stability (planted and sure footed) as well as the ability to absorb small bumps and fork dive (when braking) is on much higher level. Safer to ride and more fun due to a better feedback. Best upgrade for the money. Definitely recommended.

Thanks ! Yes although the suspension of the T7 is great it is always possible to improve it. How much is depending of the specific usage and of course wallet :-)

Hello good afternoon, it has to do with the wearing of center stand, upper fenders, lower fender, Sv motech skid plate, more givi trunk support,I know that all these things are a lot of weight, I have 7 cm in fork and 8.5 in sag shock, my weight with equipment is 85kg, greetings Toni from Alicante Spain, I love your videos, he explains it very clearly

The rear I have too much static sag, I carry the shock absorber of the T7 extrem, which I bought from a gentleman who took it off to leave the dealership, was brand new, the spring is two mm more than the stock one and it is harder than the previous one that was already 4 years old,

Thank you so much Sven for your explanations, very clear and useful. I am wondering about the 880mm seat height and 240mm ground clearance values given on the specs bike. When the sack is correctly set up, the bike moves down approx 60mm (30% of the suspension travel) with rider and gears on, that means to me that seat height becomes then approximatively 820mm and ground clearance 180mm. Is that correct ? Thank you very much in advance for your comments. Keep safe !
@thetubelesschannel
@thetubelesschannel 2 жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for feedback. When sitting on the bike with all your gear it should sag about 30% (of 200 mm total suspension travel) same as 60mm. But when the seat height and ground clearance is measured the bike already has a 10% so called static sag if the suspension is adjusted correct. So it has already "sagged" 20 mm and will then sag 40 mm more. The seat height will then be 840 mm and the ground clearance 200 mm.

If I remember correctly you installed 85N spring (linear spring?). Can you accomodate a passenger (cca 60kg) and lets say 10 kg of luggage on this spring with your 90 kg? Or would you reccomend installing 90N spring? Thank you, keep up the good work.
@thetubelesschannel
@thetubelesschannel 3 жыл бұрын
Yes I installed the 85 Nm spring. As the setting for preload for correct sag is just 2 clicks I have 22 clicks left for luggage/pillion. I may compensate about 2,5 kg per click. Thats too little for 70 kg extra so I would go for 90Nm.

Hello Sven, thanks for this video! I just would like to ask you about he pre-load of the rear spring. The sag should be 60mm right? I measure the difference - bike stands straight both wheels on the ground vs. me fully geared sitting on the bike = 60mm sag. Is that correct? Many thanks 🙏
@thetubelesschannel
@thetubelesschannel Жыл бұрын
The "rider sag" should be about 30% of the total suspension travel (=60mm)...so you will have to measure the sag when the bike rear wheel is off ground (not resting on its own weight)...and the sag with you sitting on it fully geared.
@DS_coach
@DS_coach Жыл бұрын
@@thetubelesschannel Got it! Just find out that the spring is too soft for me. I'm 90kg without gear and even after 24clicks from zero (max. pre-load) I still have about 65mm (with my riding gear on).. It means if I take a lot of luggage or passanger it would be even more. Maybe rally raid spring 85 or 80Nm would be the solution? Thank you 🙏

Hi Sven, could you recommend compression and rebound settings for on and off-road?
@thetubelesschannel
@thetubelesschannel 3 жыл бұрын
I put all the clickers in factory recommended settings, then 2 clicks harder rear both on comp and rebound to compensate for my stiffer spring. I will try different setting when doing more offroad.

Jeg tror at for svært mange er det nok. Man kan bruke MYE penger på dette, men å få riktig sagg er viktig. Jeg solgte min T7 før jeg fikk montert spacerne. Men jeg hadde nok ikke gjort mere enn det.
