I like the story mode but I have different vision for the Smackdown! story mode, instead of focusing on The New Ministry it would focus on a more original stable called: The Lesnar Circle which will consist of Brock Lesnar, JBL, Big Show & Chris Benoit and instead of Kurt Angle, Paul Heyman will be the General Manager of Smackdown! & Eddie Guerrero's group will consist of him, Rey Mysterio, Kurt Angle & Charlie Haas.

My cousin owned this game on his GameCube when we were preteens, and it was great. The graphics l, the gameplay, the story mode were great. But I you are right about this game missing a few things like a backstage brawl, voice overs, commentary, and a few superstars. It would've made the better. But it doesn't stop it from being a great wrestling game. Great review dude.

This was a good game, but suffered from the game being released at a time that caused bad timing. JBL was not in the game because during development he was still Bradshaw in the APA with Ron Simmons, but when the game released, he was JBL and was the WWE Champion. Very weird to not have one of the two world champions in the game. Also not having the Dudley Boyz despite being in a big feud with The Undertaker at the time.

There's 2 major flaws with this game and they're not the game's fault. 1) the roster at the time was indeed lacking 2) it was on the GameCube. There's nothing wrong with the gamecube, except should have never played mini DVDs. For as cool and unique they were, they had less capacity than single layer DVDs. But just imagine this on the xbox and not WrestleMania 21

Dudley's couldn't have been in developmental. EVERY reviewer says the roster is meh cause it's missing big stars from the time and always mentions people like the dudley boyz, jbl,billy Kidman, Orlando Jordan, Paul London. I feel those guys should've been in as well the guys I listed above. Maybe cause of the dramatic graphics and story leap there wasn't enough time. Day of reckoning 2 did have a much stronger roster I feel cause it had a lot more mid carders rather than guys we see in every game.

Thanks to your videos I went out and bought both DOR 1 and 2. Ive only played the first one so far, and my only complaints are that the roster is kinda skim and the AI does waaay too many reversals (like over half of my moves are reversed, and Im playing it on the easy setting), but other than that the game is great : p I had a Gamecube but I missed pretty much all of the wrestling games of this era, and am just now playing them : p So far I like DOR more than the 2 Smackdown vs Raw titles I have played on PS2. I plan on eventually getting the two Wrestlemania titles when I can : p Thanks for the videos, you deserve more viewers than you currently have.

I've played almost every WWE game that there is to play, and WWE Day of Reckoning stands high on the peak of the mountain in my opinion. I have never had more fun in a wrestling game than I have in this one. It has a great pace in game that isn't too unbearably fast but offers just about non stop action. Fast gameplay is important in my opinion. No matter how realistic the later games are, they aren't as fun as the older ones. Not only did Day of Reckoning have a great pace, but it was just fun. I like to compare it to Super Smash Brother Melee, except they're not Nintendo characters, but instead WWE wrestlers. I also like the fact that if a wrestler is in the crossfire of another move, they get hit too. Any move can be interrupted, but this feature could go anyone's way as you could knock opponent A down by throwing opponent B into him. That made things a lot more interesting in my opinion. The create mode was excellent, as was the create an entrance, and the season was a lot of fun. If this game had a better roster and title matches, I'd call it a perfect 10. Sadly, it's only getting a 9.9 from me.

My favorite "PS2 era" (6th generation?) wrestling game. Even over SvR 2006. I still remember the reason I bought it (other than it being a THQ WWF game on the GC)... because after 2 or 3 games, the "Deadman" Undertaker was finally back! Not a fan of "American Bad-Ass" Undertaker. Also, this game has the best create a wrestler/create an entrance modes ever!

This was a fantastic game! The only issue I had was that I could not beat the final match in story mode. Hit HHH with over 20 finishers and he just would not stay down for the 3 count. I probably chose the wrong stats to increase during career mode, which is a flaw if the game won't give me a chance to complete it.
