Dudes! This makes me want to upgrade my PB-2000s to PB-16 Ultras. Best review I’ve seen of this sub. You guys didn’t just shill for SVS, but provided your honest input and a great overview. This is my favorite video you guys have done recently. I loved the subtle “oh my god” and little giggles after the demo scenes. Good stuff! I love the gloss, but I do worry it would reflect way too much might in my setup. Did you see any issues with this?

Man, thank you so much for watching Matt!! Your opinion really means a lot to us and we're super happy that you enjoyed the review. The piano black is very reflective - if we were able to keep this, I would probably put a black velvet cover on the top to keep it from reflecting light, just like I did for my center channel. I still think the Black Ash looks really nice! Thanks again for all the kind words Matt - we really appreciate it!! ❤

@TwoGuyzTech4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching! The beautiful thing about these subs is they sound great right at the default settings. After we had some time to play around with the configuration, what we found out was that a lot of the settings depend on your room. We enabled the Parametric EQ option and boosted 60hz by about 4db and a q-factor of 1.4, as this made the impactful and punchy bass fill our room a lot better. The app also has a great built-in tutorial that will walk you through all of these settings once you get your subs. Hope this helps - enjoy your subs! 😀

We plan on reviewing both the SVS PB-2000 Pro and the SB-2000 Pro and do a comparison of them, but I am not sure if it will be done before you buy your sub. From what I've heard the 2000 Pro series is amazing for the price. Currently we have the SB-1000 in for review and I'm really impressed with the amount of quality bass it puts out. When you get your PB-2000 we would love to hear what you think about it. Thanks for watching! 😀

What LEVEL are you running the subwoofer at within your AVR? Running at -10 and believe it sounds better than -3 to -2. Great review by the way!!
@TwoGuyzTech3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! This is going to depend on how clean the signal is coming from your AVR/processor. Lower gain levels might actually lead to less distortion coming from the LFE port, but in our scenario, we ran the PB16 through a Velodyne Bass Management System, which was hooked up to our Integra processor, which had the subwoofer outs set to 0dB. This is going to differ depending on your equipment of course. Hope this helps! :)

Thanks for watching! It depends a lot on your room. This sub has plenty of output for our room which is 20' x 15'. The problem with one sub is having unbalanced bass response throughout the room - it could sound perfect in one spot, and bloated or weak in another listening position. This isn't a problem with the sub itself - but just an inherent problem with single subs. The benefits of dual subs are smoother frequency response, more accurate bass across more listening positions, and, of course, increased bass output. This is why I always recommend two subs! 😀

New subscriber. Am currently trying to decide whether to pay to have one of my two Triad in-room gold subwoofers repaired (it makes a loud clunking sound when it plays, so am thinking there is something broken in the voice coil or cone) vs replace both with new subs. SVS is on my list if I replace, but the issue for me is that I am not an "app"guy. Almost every week, I see stories about "apps" found by Google, Apple, etc. doing malicious things. They seem as untrustworthy as Internet of Things devices. Are there any alternatives to their app, say software running on a computer?
@TwoGuyzTech4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your support! We really appreciate it! Thankfully, some of the settings on the PB16-Ultra can actually be changed just by using the front panel right on the subwoofer. The app itself is actually really good - the only permission it asks for is Location permission which is just used for bluetooth connectivity (on Android, haven't tried it on an Apple device yet). SVS is in the business of selling a great product - rather than selling your information, which I really appreciate! If you do choose to buy an SVS product, please consider using our affiliate link right at the top of the description - it will give us a small commission at no extra cost to you, and it'll help support our channel so we can continue making content like this. Thank you so much for watching and subscribing! We hope you found this helpful, and let us know if you have any more questions! 😀

Maybe it is the mics your using, you don't specify which ones you have, but for the movie demo, the sub sounds like it is woofing. Not sure how accurate that is.
@TwoGuyzTech3 жыл бұрын
Using the built in mic on our camera along with KZbin compression definitely makes this sub sound way different than it does in person, most of the time the mic was clipping from the bass output. As we said in the video, you're not going to hear what we are hearing, so the demo was more of a visual representation of the subs driver excursion and air moving from the ports. Thanks for watching!
@sharksdelight3 жыл бұрын
@@TwoGuyzTech That explains it. I was in the film industry for several decades and I know of no camera or camcorder whose built in mic was worth a damn. The most expensive cams still had crappy in-cam mics. Even a cheaper XLR shotgun mic would be better than your in cam mic.

It's a common misconception that KZbin reviewers just get to keep everything that's sent to them for review - most products, including this PB16-Ultra, are sent back to the manufacturer. The only benefit we get is the ability to actually create the review and share our thoughts and opinions. It's your choice to believe us or not - but in all honesty, I wish they would have let me keep it.
