Toffee gets angry before disappearing for good . Toffee didn't wanted to die like this and he never became the one that destroy the magic.

Then watch all episodes starting with Sad Teen Hotline and you got your 1 hour (maybe even longer) finale. Those episodes were all part of an arc and I am quite sure that if Disney aired all of them as a special event there wouldn't be many people saying that the finale was rushed because they would see that Cleave was meant to be sort of a resolution to that arc rather than having it's own conflict, climax and resolution.

If you think about it, Glossaryck probably was planning this even further back then we may realize. It explains why he wasn't surprised at seeing the first 'mewmans' in Mewni, or on why he brought baby Meteora to younger Toffee. The only part in contention is... if Toffee knew all of this and was in on it.

One thing that interests me are is eyes. His pupils always reminds me of the eyes when you're possessed by Bill Cipher. And after he got crushed by the tower in The Battle for Miewni and Ludo was playing with Toffee's disembodied eye, it was in a different design without the yellow area.

Toffee was an ultimate villain. For me three things that can make a villain real good is style, a really good plan, and being able to sympathize with them. From the very beginning Toffee had style and a good plan. And during the finale when Star looks at the tapestry and says, "Toffee was right" I thought that Toffee had the sympathetic element too.

To be fair, he wanted magic gone so the monsters would have supremacy over mewmans. Magic was the only thing that put mewmans (then humans) on par with the natural abilities of monsters when they first settled on Mewni. By taking magic away, monsters are innately more capable. The real thing to note is Toffee enacted his plan at the wrong time. It was only by bringing monsters and mewmans into a position where they were allies that they could trust removing magic.

I was really unsatisfied with this ending. I’m still wondering about Marco’s moon cheeks. Does that just happen to everyone that holds the wand? Does conflict still exist between Mewmans and monsters? Marco getting stabbed had absolutely no consequences to the plot whatsoever and could have just been removed altogether. Mina, the most powerful character, was just brushed aside. I would’ve loved to see a final battle with all of the queens vs. Mina. I think the finale definitely would’ve benefitted from an hour long, but it is what it is.

Yep, everybody that gets the wand gets the marked cheeks. If it wasnt possible, Star wouldnt have either her cheeks since she is not an actual royal. Of course there is still conflict, more so with the fact new humans appeared. The wounds of the hate between monsters and mewman closed with the loss of magic but that doesnt those wounds are no longer there. The wound was to make the fight more dramatic. Mina, was a being practically infused with magic. She cant do anything without it.

@@thekueken I havent watched actually the show (Ive seen only clips of what was more interesting) so I wouldnt know exactly how to explain Star being able to cast magic but I would believe its the same thing as Mina just that on a really lower scale. As in by using the wand so much and coming from a lineage of Queens that used the wand, it would be like she gained the ability to control a smaller quantity of magic without the wand. Idk, its my theory. For why Star is so special no idea either. But I do know that Monsters in fact couldnt have the bright cheek marks. Only the humans are able to do so.

Two things: 1. In the season 3 finale, Marco says thee was blood on his sword, and the blood was purple. Blood in SVTFOE is purple. 2. When Moon is swimming to the gator in the middle of Cleaved, you can catch a glimpse of her diamonds again.

i think marco's wound is gone because it was caused by a magic creature, and now that magic is gone, there is no wound, kind of like harry's scar after voldefart died

The whole Toffee theory has a bunch of loopholes. First of all, if Toffee's goal was to destroy magic, then why not do it himself? All he needed was the wand and to go into the magic realm. he could've easily taken the wand himself instead of telling Star to destroy her wand. Second, Glossaryk didn't help Toffee. If Glossaryk wanted magic gone too, why not help Toffee get it done quicker? Third Glossaryk probably didn't know how it was all gonna end. He was surprised when they actually destroyed magic. Fourth, it doesn't seem right that this was the only path that magic could have been destroyed. I mean there was a whole gang of people at the tavern that wanted magic gone. So apparently, the only way to ensure magic would be destroyed is let star revive magic twice and then finally suddenly change her mind and destroy magic? This is not even mentioning the fact that the only reason Star wanted magic gone was because of Mina and solarian warriors. A better option would be to age Meteora back into a giant, and then let meteora drain all the warriors life force. Sure a giant rampaging monster is a problem, but still better than ending all magic. heck even the nameless spell would be a better option, because destroy all solarian soldiers along with a big portion of mewni is far better than destroying all magic throughout all dimensions and getting mewni merged with random dimensions.

Hold on.... glimpsing the page showing Glossaryck as a fetus [17:27] it says that he was "called into being by one queen or another" and knew he had to "create books in the past... and helped the first queen learn to read by writing inside." There was a queen that called him into existence and then he returned to the first queen which we can safely say was the woman with blush cheeks. This entire time there was a queen we will never know about that "called" him into being who sparked not only her lineage getting the wand but eventually the end of magic itself despite her reason being "to assist with Mewmanity's need for understanding the Realm of Magic." In other words... Glossaryck planned sooooo much with his actions that it even lead to his birth AND death..... savage.

@@TheEvilPinkOne Exactly. What isn't said is which queen made him exist. We assume the Glossaryck stuff in the safe haven was created because of the first mewmans who likely thought him a god almost. So is it unlikely that a queen later down the line didn't believe in Glossaryck and so she created him? Or turned a statue of him into him... weirder stuff has happened.

ALSO I /really/ enjoy how Marco's "kitty bomb" spell had little moons on their cheeks, just like his! Has anyone seen the "Ready as I'll ever be" SvtFoE video? In it, they give Marco and his magic a really like blue/teal-ish color and I feel as though that would have been more fitting. BUT I'm still very happy with his spells.

The only down side for me on how the show ended was that Toffee never made a real return. I was waiting for him to reform and either to fight Star and Marco one more time, or helping them out in destroying magic. And all we got was Toffee's " Surprise! " I'm very depress.

I've always hated Manfred, and is it just me or does literally everyone else on earth except macro and Jana not rember Star and her magic? I mean they have all seen it and they have all seen her portals so why do they fail to recognise them now? And Marcos parents think he's delusional when he talks about his unicorn stab and asked about Star, even tho they have seen unicorns and know they exist

Did anyone else notice that in the episode when Star breaks her wand that glosserric (however you sell his name) says, “Cleaved is a funny word. Something can be cleaved apart or cleaved together” and the final episode of the series where earth and mewni become one is named Cleaved.

honestly i think this series was pretty good considering all it had to cover. yeah, it would have been MUCH better if it was 2 seasons instead, a lot more could have been covered and wrapped up better, but that happens and they did the best they could to cover what they needed.

In a way thy left us on a cliffhanger in a way. They combine mewni (if that’s how you spell it) and earth creating Earni and that gave them so many more stories to tell of humans, mewnis and monsters learning to live together. Since earth isn’t used to monsters all over the place there is chaos. And we could see how Marco and Stars relationship evolves. I WANT MORE THEN TWO OR THREE EPISODES OF STARCO!!!

Toffee CLEARLY did not know everything, if you go back and watch his episodes (he was surprised by Glossaryck's "I don't have a side", and also shocked and angered at Star returning to life and blasting him), I think he just knew as much as Glossaryck wanted him to know so that he thought the inevitable end of the show would be his doing when in fact he was just a catalyst for it to eventually happen.
