Wow, what a quality piece for the money.. compared to the Barton or "Ford Racing" shifter arm and bracket JUNK for the same money! This is actually a real shifter.

I ordered a race spec at the end of January for my 2012 Gt. I was surprised when this showed up at my door. I was actually expecting the first race spec, as I did not know they redesigned it. All i can say is man this is high quality and worth every penny. The install was very easy. I didn't have any problems installing the bridge with the struts or the box from underneath the car, and I have a DSS one piece drive shaft. the only thing you need to do is slightly jack up on the trans to get the box onto the bridge, because the box will slightly hit the drive shaft when you try to put the lower box on the bridge shaft. Also after I adjusted the reverse lockout and 1-2 pin I stuck the boot on the top of the shifter,let the trans all the way back down and installed the boot from underneath the car took about 2 minutes to get it around the outside of the box and in the groove. I didn't notice any additional NVH. I did notice the lack of looseness in the shifter. I did install the Dynamat Damper material like he suggested, I almost did not because everything looked so awesome but hey I took his advise.I haven't missed a shift yet since the install. The only things that were different from this video was is my shifter box was not put together which worked fine for me because I would have separated the upper and lower pieces anyway to install. Second I did not get the Deluxe Jam nut like he said. I don't know if it was because I got one of the first redesigned ones, or that it was just left out of the kit.

how is the MGW holding up for you? Does the tranny still get locked out at very high RPM?

+fzr niko I can't say anything bad about this shifter. It has worked flawlessly since I put it in. High rpm shifts are second nature, never have missed a gear after I put it in. Probably the best mod I have done to the car for performance. It's really a shame you can't see it after you put it in because the quality is awesome. If your thinking about it and can afford it, get it because the damn thing just plain works.

Dee: We have the same car, and driveshaft! :) I'm so glad you mentioned the DSS unit, and that it was no problem with the two working together. I'm pumped to get this bad boy installed, soon. (going to do myself, in the garage, using the (also new) Quick Jacks! Thanks for your post!!

Well after a couple of years with the MGW Shifter in the car I can say that I'm still very happy with it. One of the best mods to date. Makes rowing through the gears second nature with this trans and if you like drag racing it will definitely improve the quick shifting without the lockout. I would not hesitate to buy another MGW if I bought a newer Mustang. And yeah I still love the car after 5 years I still look back at her and some people ask me if its the new Mustang. I have to laugh and tell them no it's '12 the new ones are waay different. I know your car is a head turner if it looks like mine. Something about a Slick black car that makes everybody stare (no matter what kind of car) But man Keeping it clean is a second job. Your going to love the shifter and enjoy the car more after you get it put in no doubt.

No clearance issues at all. My car is riding on eibach sportline springs with koni sport shock and struts. No I'm not on the forum may have to come check it out.

Worth every penny. Save money aside for install if youre not a good mechanic as this job will put hair on your chest. Its so well engineered but not easy like the cheap crap ford performance sells.
