Scale: Doable. Attention to detail: Superb. Engine and prop size: Anemic; definitely lacking. Wish the gear-retractable version could be purchased in the U.S. Even so, I hope these guys sell a thousand of them. Congratulations on getting the plane into production! Anxious to see one in person at OSH.

I see that the landing takes an extremely long time to go in and to come out.

Nice but that Rotax high revving tone bugs me a bit. Surely there’s a 6 cylinder direct drive out there somewhere. D motor, Jabiru, UL power?

gonna start saving up to buy one

Curious to know if all those rivet details cause more stress to the wings etc, vs just a clean design?

Would be cool to see it perform with the epex engine that can push up to 400 horsepower

In the US, LSA's must have fixed gear, no?
@johnnybarbar74359 жыл бұрын
+Dennis Wierzbicki It comes in several versions. LSA does have fixed gear and ground adjustable prop.
@Twister0519 жыл бұрын
+johnnybarbar Biggest complaint is that for some ridiculous reason, in the U.S., you can't buy the version that has retractable gear. Wonder if there's any way around that issue?...

Nice. But...pilot enjoys the sound of the engine. why these videos should always be some music?
@KlausEnser9 жыл бұрын
+Aimo Kakko thanks for watching and commenting. The problem with the original sound is, that during the flight the atmo is too loud to get the sound of the engine. Thats the reason for the music ;-)

These small scale P-51 replicas look Ok but I'd be too embarrassed to do a low pass in one, they look like a joke creeping past at microlight speeds, give me a Thunder Mustang or a Stewart S-51 instead.
@r088009 жыл бұрын
100% agree. Thunder mustang will scream past in the high 400mph range and then pull up at 5000 ft/min. Better than the original with some of its numbers.

+Robbo Just take the Experimental version with a Chevy LS9 V8 than you are no longer constraint to microlight speed. toni.eiser@scalewings.com
@Capt_Tarmac8 жыл бұрын
+Toni Eiser Toni What kind of performance can be expected with the V8 engine? Will the airframe handle the large engine configuration? I am also looking at the Titan T51 with the V8 or the BMW V12. The Thunder Mustang is just too expensive for my tastes.
@harleywylie29095 жыл бұрын
@@r08800 , the Thunder Mustang performance specs are rated in the high 400 km/hour range, not in the high 400 MPH range. And a basic Falconer V-12 in the Thunder Mustang is not cheap. Not to mention that PAPA 51 is no longer in business. The guys that did the sw51 did something, designed, built and flew their airplane, so deserve some respect.
