Thank you Swamiji for so clearly explaining the difference between spirituality and religion and also about the importance of religious practices in disciplining our life. Spirituality is about one's inward journey to purify the mind, cultivate noble virtues and grow in love for God. Our goal in life is spiritual upliftment, no doubt, but the religious practices have their own role in helping us attain focus of mind and engage our mind positively to the Supreme Divinity. Very few people, particularly children, have so much love for God that they can simply sit and meditate upon Him. However, they can easily be taught simple religious practices like prayer, arati, bowing their head and offering obeisance to the deities in the temple. These practices will help build up their samskar, discipline their life and make spirituality accessible to them.

Thank you Swamiji for taking time and efforts to explain the difference between religious practices and spiritual practices and also touching upon karm, bhakti, gyaan modes of God realization. Religious practices of customs and rituals instills a strong discipline and culture and sets the foundation to worship the Supreme God externally (materialistically) which is understandable for most people. However, once this framework is developed it is only through spiritual practices: inward cleansing and purification of the mind takes place and then one starts to develop connection,pure selfless love and devotion towards the Supreme God.

Religious teaches us to do puja, japa and so many rituals for God, but spirituality teaches us that the inner journey is the most important journey in life. How much we do puja or any rituals if we cannot purify our mind and connect it to God, everything useless. So the theme of all is to love God and to serve God selflessly,unconditionally and keep Him in the heart every moment.

Swamiji preaches us to proceed in right direction to reach our goal. Swamiji says there are only three ways to reach God's realisation. They are Karm , jnan and Bhakti respectively. Karm and Jnan leads to reach Swarg only. Only Bhakti can reach us to Lord Krishna. Rest of twos are very tidious and hard. Swamiji clarifies there are two types Religion and Spiŕituality. Swamiji clearly tells that Going to temple wearing tilak and doing vrata poojas all are Relijious practices. Where as spirituality is totally inner feeling. Swamiji advises us to forward innerly developing for which rituals and customs are not required. Pranams to Swamiji for teaching the difference between Religion and Spirituality.Sant Ravi Das's story is an example of pure Bhakti. He didn't practice any rituals ,developed pure Bhakti innerly that's why he always used to say "Man Changa tho Katothi me Ganga".

The most important duty according to me would be to be of loving service to God. We are the souls, not this body, the Maya paints an illusion that makes us see the unimportant as important and we get so engrossed in achieving all that Maya has to offer that we forget the real essence of US, we forget we aren't this body. We have been given this body to have the elevated consciousness to see us as the souls and not the body. The choice is ours whether to become God-realized in this life, or else we would have to go on with the cycle of life and death until we reach the one common destination of God realization.
