Prof M S Swaminathan has every right to comment on transgenic crops. If he cannot, then who will talk about it in India. Whatever his comment about a controversial issues on transgenic crops, definitely we the researcher should look in to it very carefully. Let us stop comment on him. Suppose, we agree that the transgenic crops are good for the farmers or the consumers, why still the farmers are committing suicide and why a we are still importing grains from other nations. So, the transgenic crops are not fulfilling the needs of the farmers. How long we do research on transgenic crops? When it will help the farmers? Let us look for evergreen revolution.

You must educate yourself about (genetically modified) GM crops. It’s not good for human health. Do some more research on Monsanto and you’ll find out the damage they’ve done to the farming industry around the world. I’m glad center rejects GM food crops.
