I have had the small size kit for four years on a 12 foot john and couldn't be happier. Its overbuilt and reliable, wouldn't change a thing. Also predator motors are cheap and easily modified for more power. If you are thinking about it, pull the trigger. Its a blast.

Brings back memories of running the salt marsh and shallow creeks here in Florida. Still have my kit and it runs just as smooth now as it did 2 years ago!

Bought the large Kit this hunting season. Have the 22HP Predator 670 V Twin engine strapped to her. The machine is a Beast of fast, strong function. Pushes two heavy old guys with too much gear thru the lake's skinny waters, over logs, and into the flats where many rarely go, but where the ducks and geese do. simple as that. This machine gives us access in speed, style and kick arse fun. The 670 gives us plenty of power, more than one would normally need, but all that reserve power to blast you thru that pudding when it starts grabbing the bottom of your boat . The Predator starts and runs like a dream. HONDAs are great, but too pricey for me. That much moner was a deal breaker, couldnt afford it. The Predator is an excellent copy of the Hondas. The shaft and SR assembly are perfect. Easy to install, fun actually. "Maintainence" is a couple of pulls on a grease gun's trigger , mid grade fuel, once in a while some Seafoam etc for yuks. When the season is over, I plan to dismount the shaft assembly and hang it up in the garage. Dismount the motor and frame from the moat, use the plywood base with the bolt holes and the bolts, mount it to a larger furniture dolly and wheel it into the garage. Plan to wheel it out a couple of times in the warm months and fire her up, beer in hand and day dreaming about the hunting season coming up, using visions of last season and the Swamp Runner performing. I was considering the next engine down, 13 HP, much less expensive, but I took hold of my thoughts and just knew I could enjoy the 13 but always crave the 22 for more speed. So I went to the max from the get go and only look back at my rooster tail. I used chain link gate kit with threaded rod and plumbing fittings o make a kick arse rectangular leaning post. Strong as heck, a must for a mud motor of any style, in my opinion. Hey, there are guys on KZbin who strap on Harley motors to longtails. Hmmmmm, I wanna go faster...."faster Daddy!!". Save up for one, sell the wife's jewelry or shoes, she'll eventuall forgive you, sell a shotgun, rob a bank.....GO GET ONE! .

Getting ready to intall a 625cc single cylinder on my medium kit, wont be any faster but it will carry a heavier load without slowing down. Love my SPS kit, I couldn't have chosen a better kit.
