The Fishing Pond in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was a place players could retreat to and just relax. However, in my opinion, limiting fishing to this small area was kind of a mistake. How would fishing anywhere in Hyrule change the game? Well... It's time we found out!

It's not a perfect mirror, he always has a mastersword replica regardless of your current equipement, so my guess is if you have the fishing rod he still have the sword. Also his AI is programmed to do an attack if you don't attack him for a few seconds, catching a fish with him around will be a challenge.

@@SwankyBox given that oot included a timeline where link dies; it's reasonable to assume that there's a timeline like that for every game, just that there isn't anything with lore importance. Who's to say the fishing timeline isn't canon

@@walls_of_skulls6061 Yeah. I think that the "Hero is defeated" timeline is just an oversimplification of all the different possibilities of Link being defeated. It's not just Ganon drfeating him, but, any death up to that point would count because it allows Ganon to take over. It's not significant enough to change the overall outcome. If Link doesn't save the day, Ganon takes over, but, there could be minor differences amongst all the possible realities depending on when or how he died. I would say though, that whether he died or not, if he just never says the Princess or is crippled, then the same thing would happen. But, those things couldn't happen in the game, so, it's probably why it can't be counted. Or, idk, because I've only played BOTW.

When I was young and played OOT I was so scared of the redeads outside the temple of time that I used to teleport here and fish for hours... I think I have found nearly every glitch and Easter egg here. I felt like a god after finding the sinking lure haha. MORE FISHING CONTENT!!!

I can’t believe TP is actually a fix to this lol. Link gets his own fishing rod. Link can fish in any body of water (or even lava. Does this work in sand?? Moving on.) Fish are catchable in just about any pool deep enough for the bobber to float properly and Link isn’t standing too far above …also cats. And dogs. And talking with cuccos and squirrels and petting goats. (But mostly the cats. And fishing.)

Fishing at the bottom of Gerudo Valley really sold it for me, I never realised how much I wanted to even just SEE that. It makes me wonder of BotW2 might have something like that. I know you can just dive into the water and snatch fish up with your bare hands like a goblin, but I know plenty of people who would rather enjoy traditional fishing over that.

This is always a fun experiment. I do know that fishing works quite well in Zora's Fountain. Aside from that, it is interesting to see you chose Morpha's Boss Room for one of your tests as that was the original test site that the programmer (Morita) fooled around with the idea of fishing, that may explain why it works so well.

i really wished that botw had fishing poles. I just love fishing, so when I played TP (my very first zelda game) I was so stoked to see fishing in a game for the first time in my life. Its also just so fun and relaxing to take a break and fish, when I couldn't do it irl.

Many dangers are encountered here. You may use your fishing rod as a kind of sword for defense. I think one of the glitches about stealing the fishing rod can also put a deku stick on the B button. That might explain how the rod functioned like a deku stick when fighting.

Assuming you could still beat Ganon without Zelda it would actually SAVE the timeline to trade her for a fish. She's the one that makes two extra timelines so in reality the Fishfall timeline is ideal. It would be Adult but with a hero to save the day to prevent Windwaker's flood.

Funfact: in Majora's Mask, the fishing areas actually allow you to wear the Fierce Deity Mask without using cheat devices. I have an idea why, but not only is it a stretch, but it's unsupported as I have no interest in getting some of the more interesting fish in that game.
