**Open for more Info** So I have been loving doing these beer rinses occasionally. I forgot to mention in this video that I choose a dark beer as recommended by the Science Y Hair Blog. This is pretty fun to try! Let me know if you give it a shot.

Your Mom is right! I remember beer rinses from the 70s! Can't remember if I did it it not back then but will definitely pick up some beer & try it now! There can't be too many ways to go for that shiney shine you have!

This is the best beer rinse demo on KZbin! 🍻👍 loved ur two bowl technique too! Hadn't seen that one before. Yeah my mom also said it's totally an old school thing 😂 she used to use it to set her hair rollers in her high school days.

So glad to have found this video, I hadn’t seen many people talk about beer rinses but it literally saved my hair last year when it had started to go into moisture overload. My mom had told me about this because her grandmother (my great grandma) used to use beer in her hair all the time. My mom would tell me to save a beer that was left out and had gone flat and pour it over my hair. So I thought about it again last November when my hair got all funky and it worked like magic! I kind of feel off the curly girl wagon through the holidays as things got so busy and I needed to cut some corners, but with the new year I’m ready to get back at it and keep working on my healthy hair journey!

OH how cool!!! Yeay for mom! And its totally ok to take a break from all the curly girl things. I find that I take breaks too! But I'm far more aware of the damage I'm causing rather than humming along torturing my hair and thinking I'm doing what is best for it. (man I used to love a good sleek and shine serum!)

I just started embracing my wavy curls this past October but used Deva products for almost three months and my hair is brittle and dry. I have lost a lot of my curl pattern and I have been looking for ways to help the health of my hair and scalp. I tried this beer rinse and it looks and feels so good.

I try this on my hair years ago 😂. Actually it works better when adding olive oil ( but it is hard to rinse off) but using beer alone is fine and easier to rinse off too. I usually leave it for 20min to 1 hour. My hair is so soft and moisture afterwards, even better than some high- end brands. My hair is originally dry, fizzy and a little curling too so this also straighten hair

Wow! Your hair looks super shiny!! Don't want to get pulled over when your doing a beer rinse! "No, Officer, really, it's my hair! I didn't drink any beer!!" It looked like you were using a darker beer. Is there any difference in the outcome of the rinse if you use an ale vs a lager? Or darker beer vs more golden color beer?

I cleansed my hair with a sulfate shampoo, then used the Jessi Curl deep conditioning treatment (left on for awhile). And my hair felt super dry and unhappy when I rinsed it out. Does this mean my hair doesn't want moisture and needs protein, or something else? Also whenever I CTC I always get left with all the wet frizz (yes I add more water and leave in, still all the frizz) Any help from anyone would be appreciated.

If you had to give a 0-10 scale or a grade scale of degree of potency and effectiveness for protein treatments.... how would you rate gelatin, rice water, beer rinse, sally protein filler drops, curl junkie repair me mask, shea moisture protein mask (the light blue label) because I'm not sure which ones are strongest to least or which ones are on the same level.

do you happen to have any advice on how to encourage curl in a couple of clumps? my hair changed in my 40s and most of it is now wavy/slightly curly, EXCEPT these two clumps in the front. they are just shy of board straight! i keep trying to pay more attention to those strands with conditioner and scrunching, but no go.

I'm so jealous whenever I see wavy or curly haired videos and you are all touching your hair and running your hands through it. My hair is so tangled all the time no matter what I do. It's fine when it's wet - soon as it's dried though, tangled. Product or no product. Leave-in or no leave-in. It's tangled.

Hi vegan and vegetarian curlies! Please be warned that it is still a common practice to use fish bladders in the filtration process of brewing. You can find beers that are fully vegan but you will have to do some research. It's a cheap effective way to speed up the natural filtration process.
