Hi Nehemia, just to tell you a little anecdote that happened to my brother. A couple of weeks ago,in November, my brother Ricky went to see his daughter and family in California. Before taking his flight from Montreal, he was waiting in line to get his plane ticket; Next to him, there was another line with people waiting in line for the same thing, and right next to him in the other line, there was a jewish man. Ricky, loving Israel immensely, speaks to him and then says, hey I know how to pronounce a little hebrew! The man in question asks Rick what it was... so Ricky looks at him enthusiastically and says: « Baroukh ata Yehovah eloheinu Melek ha’Olam ». The man looked at Ricky with a smile and said: « Wow, I’m impressed! how did you learn this and Ricky ( wanting to protect you, Nehemia ), pointed to the sky and said « He showed it to me »; So the man said: « You should come to Israel » and Ricky answered: « Maybe one day ». Personally I was surprised of his reaction because of the ban and at the same time happy for my brother😃

Zekher actually fits perfectly with memorialize. It actually means do not memorialize the gods of the other nations and mention them with the desire to seek them as if they are God and can help you. I’ll say it like this: God called Himself the husband of Israel. Do not desire the gods of the nations and mention or call on them like you did Him and produce children after them who are not God. If I believe “Thor” is a false god and God sees my heart and I obey Him but during a course on Mythology mention his name in word and writing YHVH is not threatened. Would you be threatened if your wife said the name of your neighbor’s husband in conversation with you? No. But if you heard her next door crying out his name as if in pleasure you would be enraged because she had given her heart, mind, soul and body to another man. That is memorialized. If you don’t believe in Yeshua Hamashiach you shouldn’t teach on Him. You don’t have revelation from Him. When He said do not swear by Heaven or anything else He meant just that. He said in verse 36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. He just said that you have no control over your hair. He’s saying God is in control. You don’t know if you will be alive to carry out your words so just say yes or no because then if things don’t work out the way you planned it’s only human error. A true disciple of Jesus Christ is a person of truth. 1 Corinthians 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. That type of person only needs to speak the truth. I can hear your evil heart in your mentioning of Christians getting away with not swearing on the Bible in court. You assume they should have to because “You can’t trust them.” Your problem is not trusting them but God. He sees men’s hearts and He is the judge above all. Men think they get away with lies but He will repay everyone. Just think about who Satan or the adversary or the accuser is and think about how court systems work. Prosecutors rarely care one bit about anything but “proving that you did it!” And they will do some crooked things to get a conviction.

In His teachings where some believe Yeshua was changing Yehovah's laws, Torah, our Savior Yeshua was teaching the Spiritual understanding of the same exact Torah. Because the New Covenant is not of national Israel, it is of a Spiritual entity, those called to come out of the world. One example is Matthew 5: 27 and 28.

The Essenes (a.k.a. Hasidim - Pious Ones) of the 2nd Temple period did not swear in the Name; their word was considered better than that of many who did.
