As a Baha'i I really appreciate Swedenborg's contribution to humanity.

In regard to carbon, It is very important to understand that due to inadequate forest management practices worldwide, billions of tonnes of organic carbon are spewed into the atmosphere every year due to forest and brush fires. If these huge resources were harvested instead and directed towards the production of humus and methane, nitrogen and low grade heat, we would find that we have discovered the accelerator pedal of environmental rehabilitation. Humus is exponentially reproducible. One tonne of humus, properly prepared, can grow twenty tonnes of vegetable matter, but it takes only three to four tonnes of organic material to produce one tonne of humus. This means that if all organic material was used to prepare compost, it would not take too long before we had enough humus to rehabilitate all of the worlds deserts. To accomplish this task, we need abundant fresh water. Currently, due to the abysmal state of the worlds catchments, this potential is lost. The worlds riparian systems are choked with sediments and in very poor condition. If, using wholistic, hands-on human labour, we decided to rehabilitate those catchments, we could easily bring them into a condition that carries and purifies ten to a hundred times more water availability than in the current situation. This is an urgent task. After the explosion of 2050 atomic bombs to date, combined with the Chernobyl and Fukushima disasters, we find that we have lost trillions of marine creatures and trillions more birds animals and trees. The most hopeful way to tackle this problem is to accelerate adaptivity to radiation. This process is most rapid in the soil micro flora and fauna which thrive in humus. It is probable that rapid adaptivity will be passed up the food chain, and it is also probable that a thick layer of humus is the most effective way of containing radioactive substances. The planet needs trillions more trees, and this task will be much easier if we have abundant humus. If we rebuilt the 'humusphere', we could directly plant tree seeds with spectacular results.

Swedenborg says that all moons and planets everywhere have human life on them because, he continues, that all planets and moons are made for the human race. But, he also states emphatically that we can not see these beings at all, or indeed anything that comes about on the foreign planet or moon. The reason for this is that everything on another earth is a product of the energy state unique to that planet. Our senses are adapted to, and a product of, the particular energy frequency of this planet alone, in the same way that we cannot hear a silent dog whistle. The dog's ears are adapted to hear a higher frequency of energy than a human. On other heavenly bodies the state of energy is completely foreign to our sensory apparatus, so that if we wish to communicate or see these humans and their surrounds we must employ an angelic column, which is a device made for adjusting the human's ability for seeing on a different level. That is the reason that the Moon, Mars, Venus and the other planets that we have photographed seem to be barren, rocky substrates with no life whatever.
