What I find in Swedenborg's books is that since the hells consist of people who refused to be absorbed into the Grand Man of heaven, they correspond to waste products that exit the body. Not pleasant, but makes sense! - Karin

I'm glad you love and honor the Bible. We do, too! Jesus indicated that details about the afterlife could not be plainly told at the time he was on earth: “All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak to them.” -Matthew 13:34 “These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father.” -John 16:25 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now” (John 16:12). “If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?” (John 3:12). We get this information from the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772), a brilliant and accomplised scientist who had a profound spiritual awakening in his mid-50s. After an intense period of self-examination, repentance, prayer and Bible study, he had a powerful vision of Christ, who opened up Swedenborg's spiritual sight so that he could learn about the afterlife and the deeper meanings in Scripture. Swedenborg was called to the mission of writing these things down, because the time had finally come that Jesus had promised. We respect that you and everyone must decide for themselves whether to believe that or not, but we do believe it, and that's why we want to share this information! Jesus saying that there are deeper meanings in the Bible: “Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. . . . And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?” -Luke 24: 25-27, 32 “Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.” -Luke 24:44-45 May you find your own ways to feel these deeper meanings in your heart as you read the Scriptures!
