I am a 30-year veteran (retiree) of the US military, and identify myself as a "military professional" If there were just one thing I hope people would take away from this video is that the US is, and has always been, focused on developing strategies and weapons systems specifically designed to be "precise," i.e., to remove the source of violence as efficiently as possible. To a true military professional, the goal is to end a conflict as quickly as possible with as little death and damage as possible.

I think what this video fails to mention is the logistical power of the U.S. Military. We can move troops, weapons and supplies at an amount, distance and speed that is unparalleled. I know this video wanted to mainly deal with weapons systems but in my humble opinion it is our logistical power (and a completely professional, well trained personnel base) that makes us so formidable. Cool toys help though.

We never want war or conflict. Everywhere we go we are asked for help from. In most cases anyways (always an exception for any country). We always get damned if we do or dont though. This country stays ready for a fight because somebody has to, and we are most the capable. At the moment we are helping too many and it is costing us dearly. Nobody talks about that though they just talk trash about us. Calling us the bad guys. I have been around this globe wearing my uniform doing things for other countries in the name of my own so I seen it with my own eyes.

It's actually not that expensive to run our military. In fact the US technically spends less than some other countries. The US economy is just so large that the 3 percent used for military is massive. Saudi Arabia uses 6 percent of GDP for 40 billion dollars while the US used 3.7 for 801 billion. In fact the US will lower this percentage within the next 30 years in order to keep growth gradual of the budget.

Those are not minuteman missiles they keep showing. They are showing Nasa and SpaceX rockets for the space program. Minuteman missiles donlt have those extra rockets on the bottom sides. They are mixing rockets in with missiles for the video.

It had an issue with one of its engines...the swedish didnt know what it was until they intercepted it and were contacted by the pilots and asked to escort them...when the swedish fighter jets showed up the russian fighters backed off from what I have seen in videos telling the story of the incident.

3:45 The video is speaking about Supercarriers and the ship in the picture is the USS Midway (CVB-41), which is now a museum ship in San Diego. It is docked across the bay from the Coronado Navel Base/Naval Air Station North Island which has berths for two or three (I don't recall which) Nimitz-class carriers. The Midway was commissioned in 1945 eight days after the end of WWII as a straight-deck carrier. She was decommissioned in 1992. An early angled flight deck was added in the mid-1950s with the final angled deck you see in the video added in a massive modernization program from 1966 to 1970. She participated in everything from the Korean War through Desert Storm.

I had to laugh when they showed the animation of a jet taking off from a carrier at the 4:59 mark, with the number '63' on the flight deck. That number would belong to the USS Kittyhawk (CV 63), and she would not be a nuclear powered aircraft carrier, but powered by conventional means. The USS Kittyhawk is also a Forrestal-class aircraft carrier, and not a Nimitz-class carrier, and was decommissioned in 2009.

I was watching Armageddon last night and I had forgotten how good that movie was....But something caught my ear when one of my favorite actors Keith David played a General who was over the Air Force quoted that years defense budget...I think he said it was two hundred billon dollars and that was in 1998...At least, that's when the movie was made....This year's U.S. defense budget is a straight up (800-Billion)....If you don't reccongize the name Keith David...In the movie The Thing....At the end of that movie it was only him and Kurt Russell....But by then Keith David had turned into The Thing....Because Kurt Russell gave him a drink but what was in that bottle was gasoline not whiskey....The Thing wasn't from this planet and didn't know the diffence between whiskey and gasoline....That's the reason Kurt Russell gave him a little smile after Keith drank from the truth bottle.

A few other tidbits that I found from similar videos. I'm not 100% sure on accuracy but have seen the stats in multiple vids so I think it likely. 1) The US has as many super-carriers as the rest of the world combine. 2) The largest air force in the world is the US Air Force. The second largest air force in the world is the US Navy. 3) The US spends more on it's military every year than the next 8 largest military expenditures combined.

The USS Gerald R. Ford Super Aircraft Carrier has been deployed and it is fully operational: It did come with a surprise, that is a high power laser. Which, allows the ship to attack & defend its self at the speed of light. The laser is capable of not being seen or a dose of color used to make it visible. The laser system can wipe out 100’s of missal in a matter of seconds. There are two Ford Class Carriers that have been under construction for sometime and two Nimitz Class Carriers that will be retired & deconstructed. By law the U.S. must always have 11 operational carriers. 🇺🇸

Another thing about potential uses of drones is that without having a squishy meat puppet the aircraft needs to protect it can maneuver much harder than an aircraft with a pilot. A human can take up to about 9 G or -2.5 G for short bursts before succumbing to blackout or redout respectively. We hit those limits back in WWII. Increasing maneuverability since then has been about how quickly we can get to those limits and having enough thrust to keep airspeed while doing them than actually maneuvering harder. Without these limits or the added weight of life support and ejector seats a machine is only limited by the laws of physics. It could eventually be a case of a human pilot trying to dogfight an aircraft that could literally turn twice as hard as they can. Add on the potential of AI systems to make immediate reactions and you are looking at a very bad day for a future opponent. I would be very surprised if these types of human vs. AI tests are not either being run today or in the near future.
