Yes, in Sweden parents are paid every month to have kids. Once you are 18 that money is payed to you instead. And if you go to college or university you also get paid and may take a government administrated (and very beneficial) monthly loan. It's free to study for Swedes and EU citizens, but the loan pays for rent, food, books etc. Living in Sweden is expensive and this way you don't have to come from a rich family to study.

Yes, Systembolaget is owned by the government. It is actually a remnant from the time prohobition was in fashion. Sweden voted no to prohibition with a hairline margin, but the competing suggestion was instead to keep regulated alcohol consumption by limiting the stores where you could buy. Back in the 1920s rich people and high social status meant you could buy more too. This is of course not true anymore, but just a fun fact.

I am aware of the moose, but his one is Canadian, which is a bit larger (Yes, I do hunt mooses). Volvo makes and SAAB made cars from Sweden. Yes, Scania and Volvo also build trucks and busses. SAAB make really cool figher jets though. You need license to fish in lakes, but not in the sea (Baltic Sea and Nordic Sea) Chewing tobaccos is not like snus. Systembolaget is because we are in the Alcoholic belt (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland and Russia). So that is why we have Systembolaget. And that store should not sell lots of booze, they restrict the selling of booze to young people. The number of different bear, wine and liquers are exceptionell in Systembolaget stores.

Hi Paul, this is going to be a rant... first time checking out your video and lucky that since i´m a Swede. Fact wise this is okay, but there is a lot more to it then spoken here... there are a lot more companies that are major players that also are from Sweden (Volvo being one, but is now Chinese, Skania, Dice and more...). The moose part... one of the biggest problem is that the moose is big and it´s heavy, most car crashes with moose is because the car sweeps the legs and the body falls on top of the windshield and roof crushing the people inside, The Sami people is a bit of a "hot" topic in Sweden because they get a lot of tax cuts but they are native to this land and the rest of the Nordic, Skolbidrag (a.k.a School Grant) is something that is given to each child's (until they graduate gymnasium at age 18-19 (no idea what that is in Brazil)) parents every month to help with school supplies, cloth and food (that´s at least what it meant when i got it). Systembolaget is a government controlled business (no matter what they say) that was created to keep control on alcohol distribution in Sweden. It´s a nightmare for companies wanting to get in to the business but actually good and bad for the people, most systembolag has a rich inventory and pretty knowledgeable personnel working so if you don´t know what wine will work with your dish you will probably get some assistance and it´s a lot cheaper than at a bar in Sweden. I really like your video and i really like the teacher in you going out of your way just to show how big a Moose actually is! Keep this up!

Hi! Thank you for the detailed information 😀 In Brazil we also call it gymnasium, lol , but they don't pay anyone to study, in fact, it's really common for kids to get a pass and pushed forward just so that they won't overcrowd the classroom 🤦‍♂️even if they learned nothing. But I'm an ESL teacher, I only teach adults who want to learn English for work VISA purposes

Hi Paul, it may interest you to know that in the late 1800's as many as 10000 Swedes immigrated to Brazil. Most of them ended up in the region of Misiones, Rio Grande do Sul and later founded the small town of Villa Svea (now Obera) in Argentina.

Well some Are a little poorely explained and some are that not of a big deal to mention compared to other things. But first one thing that was wrong. In the begining of the video they have a flag.on top of the Sweden. That flag is wrong, sweden is a blue flag with a yellow cross.. not the other way around. I would mention some Swedish inventions: • Safety matches • zipper • adjustable wrench • GPS • Pacemaker • Three-point seatbelt (and yes Volvo is Swedish just as SAAB and Koenigsegg (worlds fastest production car) • Flat screen monitor • Computer mouse • Telephone handset • Celsius temperature scale • Dynamite • And the famous coca cola bottle

6:00 Nothing against the sami (they are great), but they are no more "indigenous" than the Swedes, Finns, Norwegians, or even Russians. That's just one of those political "truths". In fact, they arrived in Scandinavia several thousands of years later than the other groups.
@magnusnilsson9792
@magnusnilsson9792 3 жыл бұрын
1. True 2. Just the tip of the iceberg (Yes volvo was Swedish, some chineese company owns a majorityshare now) 3. Isn't everyone connected now? 94% seems low. 4. Sure only 2000 true Sami, but there are lot part-time Sami people. 5. Weird entry 6. True, parents get "barnbidrag" childmoney for the first 2 children, then "flerbarnstillägg" multiple child add-on, which is a lower sum for every child after the first two. Currently 1250SEK U$D140 every month, 9-year school is then mandatory, usually age 6-15, then at age 16 "studiebidraget" takes over, same sum but requires the kid to attend school. 7. This one is a bit complicated, but it allows you to walk on anyone's private property, as long as you follow 2 basic rules "do not annoy, do not destroy", small scale fishing with a fishing rod is mostly free, but some lakes are getting sour so a lot of restrictions have been put up to not exterminate all life. Picking msuhrooms and berrys is totally free along with sticks from the ground (you are not allowed to cut trees), you must also be quiet enough to not disturb and of course no littering. 8. SNUS is more sofisticated than chew-tobacco, it goes directly into the blood and not through your belly or lungs like ciggarettes. Taking a SNUS is like drinking a beer instead of a shot of vodka, comparred to ciggarettes. 9. Systembolaget is a government owned company, it stemmed from a compromise between widespread alkoholism and making it illegal. Late 1800's most workers were payed half their salary in beer. 10. True, but any country cold do this if they wanted.

Goddagens! You ask about a few things and I will try to answer. I am Swedish and live north of Stockholm. 1. The euroasian moose is smaller than the Canadian but is still a superhugh animal. The reason for the accidents is that their legs are thin and when you crash into it the legs will brake and the body will thrust into the windshield of your car. 6. Yes we have studiebidrag and when you are older you can apply for more money and lones to be able to studie. 8. Texas = chewing tobacco, Sweden = snus (powder or portions). 9. We are verk liberal overall but when it comes to alcohol or drugs our laws are strict. Due to historical alcohol missuse we have Systembolaget as a method for making fewer alcholics. We can fish in most lakes but it has becom more usual to but a permit for sertain lakes.

Hi from Sweden. Yes, all the fact are correct but maybe not thoroughly explained. Youngsters get paid to study just because politicians wants as many as possible to get a high education. And Systembolaget, owned by the government, is the only stores that sells alcohol. It's monopoly, but on the other hand we have over 20 000 sorts of beer, wine and liquor to choose from.

The moose size is also why it's so dangerous to hit with a car and it's not simply because of the weight, but as it's so high that the front of a car will just clip the legs and all the mass ends up hitting windshield and the people behind it. A small detail about Sami, they are not indigenous in the same sense as native Americans or Australias aborigines as they actually came to Sweden after the "main" Swedish people, they just moved into the more remote areas. They were still oppressed and such, so get some compensation and say in land development.

Because of the deforestation of unprofitable leaf forrest, and the industrial planting of evergreens (pine and "Christmas trees"), Swedish moose are actually getting smaller. No leafs and lack of sunlight means no berries either. So they have to eat less nutritional food.

That money thing ... I could not exactly make out what they called it, I think he said "Studiebidrag" wich would be something like a Study grant or something like that, I know here in Norway students can also get like a government grant to help pay for bills that comes when being away study. It is not much, and I think that (I might be wrong ofcourse) it is originally a study loan, but if you pass the class, it gets turned into a grant instead or part of it atleast. We also have some government help so after your study and you want to get a job, there are incentives for you to take a job in the north of the country, there your student loan gets a yearly writeoff so they (government) grants you a set amount a year to write off your studentloan, so eventually while you get a paid job up in the north, the government basically pays your studentloan for the most cases.

Yeah, the speech machine glitched when it was going to say studiebidrag :-) When those machines evolve to speak perfect, it will take at least a generation more before they can talk Norwegan and Swedish since we use pitch modulation when we talk, a word can mean different things depending on the pitch of a single letter but spelled the same.

Studiebidrag to study. And now its 1250 swedish kronor a month. My daughter gets it all to buy the little things she needs or wants. When she turnes 18 the money will go directly in to her own account. Systembolaget for alcohol is a way to lower the alcoholic use in a destructive way. Trying to lower abuse due to alcohol and in some ways trying to protect for example children. Comes from a time way back when men even got payed for workong in strong alcohol and the working class drank large amounts. So to try and prevent alcoholism and abuse due to drinking heavely they put all booze in one store and came up with laws around alcohol.

Everyone seems to answer any questions, and of course fishing is not include in Allemansrätt. Then to pay one to study, no swedes think about it like that! Its this rather, we are a very competative country, one have to compete to go to university. Then you get a grant and can apply for a study loan. It means that its paybacktime, your parents alredy paid a lot of taxes, they dont need to support you, it cost them nothing if you is going to universety. That means that we have a high social mobility.

There are between 20000-40000 Sami living in Sweden. Of those, about 2800 are involved in reindeer herding. I suspect that it is the number they got for this video. Yes, you get a small amount of money when you study. It's not enough to live on but you will also get to lend money from the state. And since the schools and universities are free, what you need money for are some place to live and food. And books if at the university level. You do need a fishing license to fish in most lakes and rivers, with the exception of the largest lakes. "Systembolaget" is run by the state. The reason behind this is that people drank a lot of alcohol and and the morality at the beginning of the 20th century. Interesting things with this arrangement are that they are not allowed t discriminate brands and that the price are decided by the alcohol percent that makes for example expensive wines cheap-ish in Sweden.

And all mans right is not allowed on anny private property. You cant walk in to someones garden picking their fruit and berries. Snus is not chewing tabaco wich you chew.
