I have to add that I love that you make us make up sentences, as a beginner at Swedish I find this a great excercise also because I now know quite a few words so I think I am capable of composing them. I hope there will be more lessons to come, but for now, thank you for making them!

These videos were so incredibly helpful!! I wish there were more. The pace was perfect and the pronunciations were clear and understandable. So many videos that just teach you phrases without the actual grammar. Now I can actually write my own sentences. Tack!

Really good set of videos. I have learnt German all the way through school and find it a simple transition from that to Swedish. Your videos are very informative and helpful. I like the way that you have made learning the grammar the main priority. That way, you really get to grips with how the language works, rather than learning phrases parrot-fashion. Excellent job, I look forward to you hopefully finishing them. :)

Important for everyone: If u watched the videos and u understood the tenses, then from now on this is what you have to do: 1- You have to bring any Swedish book ( i have mål 2 which is used at schools here in sweden) but any could help. 2- Then you have to read one sentence and pick up the verb from it 3- then you can use a dictionary “search it on google” called( lexin) this dictionary translates in all languages and gives the verb with all tenses or gives the type of the word. 4- you have to memorize the verb in all its tenses and with the meaning in ur language 5- also the dictionary gives you if a word is a name etc. so you have to memorize it also. 6- so you analyze the whole sentence (word by word) then you see the general meaning . And go for the next sentence... I know its hard and boring but this is the best way trust me. This is the best way to study, its the advice of students here in sweden 🇸🇪 I hope this helps you all.

I have just finished watching all your videos. I noticed there are only four of them. I also noticed that this last video was published in July 2013, which is more than five years ago (January 2019). I hope you are alright. I have read many comments pleading for you to make more videos. If you are alright, is it possible for you to make more videos even if we have to pay for them? I don't mind paying for such quality videos. Thanks and I fervently hope you are ok. Tack så mycket!!
@swedishwithaxel58256 жыл бұрын
Yep, it's been way too long. Making these, I put about 20 hours into each of them (that's why they're so good). I've been waiting for a couple of weeks of free time to show up out of nowhere, which -- surprise surprise -- never happened. I've thought about ways to make this profitable, which would allow me to prioritize it as a work project, but ultimately I just find it so much more sensible to keep it free and accessible for everyone.
@ceejay42846 жыл бұрын
@@swedishwithaxel5825 just saw your reply. Wow, you took nearly a day (minus 4 hours to sleep, lol) to make each video. Your efforts really showed in the quality of the videos. Really appreciate them. It is a shame though that you can't find ways to make it a profitable work project. Have you thought about making some aspect of it free and those who want an in-depth study of the language can pay for it? I for one will be willing to pay for such lessons. Duolingo, which is free for it's users have a subscription aspect to it now. Anyway, thanks for what you have done so far and I wish you all the best in what you do. Hope you will be able to make some videos in the future. Lycka till!

I saw the request of everybody.. but I searched for a reply from you... really this is a fantastic work never better in 5 years !!! Hope you are fine and you deserve the best for those videos making them free.. but really you have the right to take against your hard work ... even if you are not going to make more videos i hope you the best and i think those 4 videos will stay a push and support for all beginners. Thank you 🌷

I have some questions about word formation. For example, how to the word stressad is formed? I thought stressad was formed by adding d at stressa: stressad = stressa + d But now I am starting to think it is formed by subtracting e from stressade: stressad = stressade - e Other examples: torkad = torkade - e erkänd = erkände - e Another example: how the word springande is formed? Should it be: springande = springa + nde Can I add nde to any verb infinitive to create the adjective? svävande = sväva + nde kommande = komma + nde lugnande = lugna + nde rungande = runga + nde? I could not find the verb runga....

I have a question about Swedish verbs. Is ta/dra/trä/va short for taga/draga/träda/vara? The dictionary lists ta/dra/trä as the infinitive, but also lists taga/draga/träda as one of the inflections. But what is taga? Another form of the infinitive? Is va short for vara? According to the dictionary, va is short for vad, not vara. But va seems also to be short for vara...

I have a question about word formation. Are these words related? Is för a prefix? If so, what does it mean? Or is it just a giant coincidence? Maybe för was a prefix but its meaning got lost in time?? försöka = för + söka förstöra = för + störa förfölja = för + följa förstå = för + stå förändra = för + ändra förlåta = för + låta förgöra = för + göra förbli = för + bli förfall = för + fall författa = för + fatta förfrysa = för + frysa försvinna = för + s + vinna

Norwegian is probably the closest relative to Swedish. Danish also comes close. They all stem from the North Germanic language group.
