When you play in a group you listen both consciously and subconsciously. Back in the fifties a teacher (algebra) remarked, after hearing kids from two different schools playing together for their first time, "How can they just come together and play?" I'm thinking that a teacher who teaches algebra, geometry, trigonometry can easily talk to a stranger who also knows the same subjects. A professional dancer can watch another dancer and often copy the routine, step for step. Every profession has its own common language. But I think music is the most fun.
Something very interesting is happening here. Joscho is trying to keep up the higher pace. The guest guitarist is not used to play at this pace and dragging the whole group. it's a little pain to the ass. it shows also that it needs proper training. The guy plays fantastic solos but can't keep it up at higher pace. Things like that show, what a killer job Gunther Stephan is doing.

They're just having a ball jamming. I wish I could play a tenth as well as any of these cats.

The funny thing I found here is that people saying all these things to make self look like a expert and some sort but without a whole picture of knowledge of it. The dude wasn't trying to keep up and anything but simply because he isn't a JP jazz player that's all. The style he came from is more of a country with thumb pick style that usually contains with a lot more and complex harmonics instead of flatpick all the way down. In comparison. There are way too many fastest picker in bluegrass with Flatpicking style can go extremely fast as well. So what's your point of proper training thing. Funny

@@Brandonfunky Proper training is needed to play a standard like Sweet Georgia Brown at 300 bpm with constant 8th-notes. That’s all.
