Its great that some young people are singing and playing the blues, there is hope for the world yet.

Her guitar work is always good but on Robert Johnson it's even better, and I love the way her voice comes to life when she sings the blues.

Very bluesy old school performance. The best version I've found.

It's wonderful to see the young ones carrying on this music. Remember: This is true American music. The Country & Western stuff was imported as "folk music" in the mid 1800's from the United Kingdom; therefore it is basically evolved English music, but Blues was born right here in America. It is our true music, and it's just great to see the young ones embrace it and play it so well. (Great job, Macyn!)

well said.. I started listening to clapton, and guys like him who dug back to the old days and "punched it up" a bit.. then when I discovered the original authors of this music I fell in love.. Love this girls version of the tune.. love her fingerpicking.. and if you dont play.. that is complicated stuff.. thumb and index are operating independently.. thumb plays bass and index plays melody.. Keep the faith young lady.. keep the faith.. well done indeed

Didn’t blues come from Africa?

I'm inclined to believe that C&W was a hybrid mix of English /Irish folk tunes and American blues. There are plenty of blues notes (flattened thirds and sevenths) in all American music. This very talented artist makes me happy with her embrace of this music.

True American music is the songs of the native tribes who were displaced by the white settlers. The blues were imported from Africa.

You make that sound so sweet.... I thank you from the bottom of my chicago heart....I now live outside the city of Chicago (born 1962] love the blues) but close enough to drive or take the train in to the city for a dose of the blues.... not many folks deliver the blues like you these days.... it’s nice to hear you and know your going to keep the really deep blues alive!

Macyn hope you keep on doing what you do and don't listen to those nitpickers. There's always people who've never been performing or had no schooling at all in this field thinking they know it all. An no-one is too young to sing the blues. If Clapton, Gary Moore, Mick Jagger and many others doing blues would have listened to comments like that he'd never became world famous! I'm happy to see young people doing blues! About time! As far as I'm concerned a 5 star performance.

Absolutely right. The untalented always have something to say about the very talented. It is usually bitterness or extreme jealousy. It certainly isn't musical knowledge. She should come to the UK, because there is a huge demand for people like her over here. One appearance on 'Later' would make her in the UK, as it did for Amelda May

ipolson I know this from visiting with a very quiet and humble bluesman from New Orleans. Funny thing here in the states is that Blacks under about 50 years old dont care for the blues legends or the music. It was back when Blacks were being kept down and , now today's music with no talent is a better thing to be proud of. Other than their wife and sisters and daughters -its Bitches and whores and bling and dope. Hating on your country and shooting other blacks is all the rage. Now that's progress worthy of shaking your ass about and blaming someone else for a life of misery.
