Hi Bonita and Raymond, I remember the big fuss when we could no longer get the mustard pickles in the stores a couple of years ago. Growing up, my folks didn't can much, and I was always afraid that if I did my own, I might not do it right. I like this recipe, and I watched your canning sterilizing and sealing. I may give it a try now. I am just wondering how long the shelf life is after canning? Best wishes both.❤
@bonitaskitchen4 ай бұрын
Hi Peter, Thank you for your message and for stopping by...I'm glad your enjoyed our recipe and you feel comfortable to make your own. I've been pickling for years and sometimes you may get a jar of pickles that didn't seal right and keep that one in the fridge until eaten. But I usually keep them after they are properly sealed in my cold storage up to a year. But I give away most of my pickling as gifts and when you open a jar it's good for a month or more kept in the fridge. I hope this gets you started and enjoy to the fullest... :) Bonita

Lovely recipe. Too bad about not getting fresh pearl onions. My store only have then once in the fall. I've got mine, now waiting for good cauliflower. I've never used flour in my pickle, seen it. My mom made special pickles for each of us in the fall. My little bro wanted sour on sour. She would make slices of dill pickles in a mustard for him. Hi from Oregon, US.

@bonitaskitchen3 ай бұрын
I water bath them, there is a link on this video talking about how to seal the jars. But after you bottle them finger tight the lids and put them in a water bath for 10 to 15 minutes and then after remove to counter top and let them come to room temp. If any don't seal keep in the fridge and the rest can be stored in your pantry up to a year!! Enjoy and thank you for stopping by!! Bonita
