My favorite band ever. This was a really nice compilation. I used to have a huge Sweet collection, and I recognize a lot of those pics. I saw them at the Santa Monica Civic Aud in 1976, best show I ever went to. Someday I'd like to meet Steve or Andy.

Used to listen to these guys when I was 6 because my brother was 7 years my senior. Back then I thought that they were different bands on the same album. Hard to peg them down. Hard rock for sure but they did pop and novelty stuff too. The operatic vocals put me in mind of Queen. The crunchy and innovative guitar can be heard in the whole British metal movement. Now I'm back into them with a nostalgic vengeance. Thanks for putting this up.

NAFmunchausen They were all extremely capable vocalists who could all take lead vocals(Steve Priest on this one), so no wonder they sounded like different bands. Time has not been kind to this band. They deserved more.

I'm 52. For me SWEET FA album was the first hard'n heavy album in this world. And as I could remember they preffered STEVE sang this song (Fantastic performance)because Brian's voice injured in a unlucky street fight. Also it must be the one of the early samples because ANDY SCOTT used a cello with a little distorsion effect in the world of Rock!

According to Steve Priest: "He was the most underrated drummer that ever came out of England. He was the powerhouse of the band. He was technically marvelous. His timing was impeccable, but he had a lot of soul as well and he really felt what he was playing".

"Brian was sent to earth to sing" and "Mick was the powerhouse of the band...". Steve on the other hand, a wonderfully humble, smiling person (as well as bass player), incapable of feeling envy and jealousy. For his old bandmates only words of great affection and sincere esteem. Three beautiful souls who are together again

Thanks clockworklou for making the video, you did a good job and it's good how you showcased one of their lesser known but still great songs, "No You Don't", which Pat Benetar recorded in the early 80s (I like The Sweet's version better -- it's more sinister).

This song is definitely a lost classic - a track for the "Deep Cuts" channel on XM. I knew all of Sweet's greatest hits from the 70s, but I had never heard this song, until I bought one of their double-disc anthology sets. It sounds like many of the major acts of the 70s, like Nazareth - Queen - Judas Priest (pun intended) in one mix, with a cool interlude from The Who. This song is intended for blowing a set of Bose 901s connected in series to a pair of Kenwood 1000-watt amps.
