I put macerated berries on my sweet potatoes, which my version of that is berries soaked in fresh orange juice; oh, it's so good! I also love to put roasted roasted grapes on them; as weird as that sounds, it's absolutely amazing. Hope you can try them sometime and please feel free to share those ideas. Thanks for the suggestion to put collagen in with the mash; I'll definitely be trying those. Love your channel!

Michele, I am about to start on AIP and I really enjoy your videos. They are a great balance of education, information and fun! My go-to breakfast nearly every day is a fruit and vegetable smoothie with herbs, spices, coconut milk and/or oil in the Vitamix and am looking for other options. I usually go mountain biking afterwards so can't do anything "heavy". Just started stocking up at Sprouts today. Thanks! Subbed! P.S... sorry to hear about your dog... we've had to put 5 cats down in the last 10 years and read Rainbow Bridge each time :-(

Thanks for your sentiments about our dog. It definitely was hard but now that I've had some time I definitely realize it was for the best for him. He definitely didn't have the life a dog deserves with all of his health issues. And as for breakfast and mountain biking - totally get the not wanting anything "heavy". I know Phoenix isn't very cold, but soups work really well as a breakfast option as well and won't weigh you down.

I have loved your youtube channel. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos about seven months ago after having been diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was 18. It seems like the side effects are getting worse, but I'm trying to find the motivation to do AIP. In addition to nutrition changes, do you take any medication?
@MicheleSpring6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliment! So I do take Armour Thyroid (which is a thyroid replacement hormone) because I went for 8 years having been told I was just "hypothyroid" and my body continued to attack my thyroid tissue. So I'll always have to take that, but other than that no, I don't take anything. When I first was diagnosed with Celiac & Hashi's I did work with my functional medicine practitioner to take some targeted supplements like iron because I was anemic (common with Celiac), and I also had to take some antimicrobials for SIBO, but nothing specifically for Hashi's. The diet and lifestyle changes really made all the difference.

I am new to AIP but I heard nuts and sugar isn’t allowed but I see recipes contain maple syrup, honey, nuts or coconut flakes, just checking that these are allowed in small quantities maybe? Thank you ☺️

Hi Michele Sweet potatoes are lovely when freshly made. Do they still taste good if you prep them and store them cold for the next day breakfast for instance? Thanks. A
@MicheleSpring2 жыл бұрын
Yep! I've stored them up to 5 days and they've been great. You can also freeze them for later too if you'd rather.

Thank you for sharing. Where do you buy the fresh tiger-nut or the white sweet potato?
@MicheleSpring4 жыл бұрын
The tigernuts typically I get off of Amazon as I haven't seen them in any local stores (I get these: amzn.to/3gJcf0q ) and the white sweet potato I've found in most of my local grocery stores. Sometimes it's harder to find in the fall and late summer, but most of my stores nearby carry it winter-early summer. They're typically right next to regular sweet potatoes but have a lighter brown skin (almost like a regular russet potato) and have the white flesh instead.They're also pretty long and skinny usually.

I just get mine from Amazon (like these: amzn.to/3bgrEoP ) but ShopAIP also has them as well: (partners.shopaip.com/idevaffiliate.php?id=180 ) * *affiliate link:

have you lose weight with this diet, is it possible? thanks!!!
@MicheleSpring5 жыл бұрын
yes, I did actually lose about 15 pounds when I did it. It's not a weight loss diet, so I wouldn't approach it as such if that's your only goal. However, it seems to be a side effect" of getting the inflammation under control and your liver, etc not having to work as hard to detoxify, etc. So with no extra effort, it often comes off and puts you at a size that is right for your body. But the diet is definitely restrictive, so unless you're also trying to find relief from autoimmune symptoms I'd look towards Paleo or Whole30 for just weight loss, if that's your only goal.
