Yesssss ma'aaaam you went waaaaaaay back to the deep south, dirt roads of Elberton, GA with this one!!! I haven't had sweet potato cobbler in soooo long. A lot of folks don't know nothing about this here! Great vid!

Diva Can Cook, if you found a lady name Eve on highway 72 in Elberton Ga she can make a good potato cobbler too.

Not only in Elberton, GA, Atlanta and other parts of GA, Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, and other states. People just don't know what they're missing. If you like peach cobbler, then you'll love sweet potato cobbler too.

I also grew up eating this cobbler and my mom is ninety now and still makes this for us, I to was surprised that a lot of people had not heard of it. My mom uses carnations milk poured over before adding the crust and it makes it rich and creamy.Thanks so much for during this one.Love your videos.

Idk if your still cooking but i so thank toy for this recipe. My dad use to make a cobbler very similar to this only he would use a pie crust in the middle as well as on top. Ive been going over KZbin looking for cobblers and this is the closest ive found to what im looking for. My Dad died many years ago and we are having a dinner to honor him in a few days. This will definitely be on the table.

Wasn't your crust at the bottom soggy? Not trying to be ugly either. My grandmom did the same, and I didn't like it, so I wouldn't eat that part. If you did it another way, I'd love to know how you did yours if you don't mind sharing. Thanks

A couple of people did tell me they put a crust on the bottom. Me personally, I would blind bake the pie shell or bottom crust first before adding the filling that way it won't be soggy once it's done.

Carolyn you are taking me back to my mother way of cooking. She would slice her sweet potatoes length wise in water until tender. Then she would layer the sweet potatoes in a baking dish. In a small pot she had molasses and cloves in a mesh bag in the pot. I don't know what else. Then she would add butter and brown sugar and then top it with a loose biscuit dough. Afterward she would add a Crum topping with walnuts. Talking about delicious! Honey yes!!. Thanks for the video.
@CookingWithCarolyn12 жыл бұрын
Just in case the cobbler boiled over it would mess up the oven that's the reason for the covered pan.

This sweet potato cobbler looks so good I’m definitely going to try it soon. I’ve had it many times before and it’s always good.
