I love apple cobbler but never made it. Because I hate to bake, love to cook, hate to bake. Thank you Becky for a great recipe that I think I can make. I can't wait to get the ingredients to try this because my mouth is seriously drooling. I think I can manage this. Thanks again Becky and God bless you for all you share with us. Much love to you and all your recipes 😊

When I was growing up a cobbler was made with a top and bottom pie crust. This recipe is what we called an Apple Crisp.
@orthohawk10265 ай бұрын
Yes! My grandma used to do this but also add a half cup of quick cook oatmeal to the egg/flour mix as well.

We had "square pie" if a pie crust was involved, a crisp if a brown sugar and butter top was crumbled on, and cobbler if any type of a flour based dough outside of pie crust was involved.

Hi Becky. I have a similar recipe called Hot Apple Pie. I slice my apples and coat them with brown sugar in a pie plate. Then I mix 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 egg and a stick of melted butter. It's thick so I have to spoon it on top of the apples but it bakes all together. Simple pie without the pie crust. I'm saving your recipe in case I need to make something for more people. Have a blessed day.

This looks so good, that I could almost smell it baking! This is how my Mama did it and taught me except she would take part of the flour and sugar mixture and add a lil Apple Cider Juice in it and make a lil more Crumb topping on it. It was absolutely delicious! I add a lil more cinnamon to mine and bc I like it and a lil Apple juice bc I love it to be thick and juicy! Lol. Of course, everyone has their own ways of doing things. This is a great recipe! Thank you Becky! I gotta go to the Apple House here in Blue Ridge to get me some apples to put in the freezer! I'll buy a few extra to make an Old Fashion Apple Pie or Cobbler! Yummy! My house is gonna smell like my Daddy and Mamas! My Daddy could make some of the best tasting Fried apples I ever tasted! He put a lil something extra in them and he wouldn't let none of us see what he did. Everytime we asked him what it is he did, He'd always say, I put the Mojo on them! LOL. My Daddy was a Card... Have a Blessed and Safe Labor Day Weekend Becky and Everyone! Remember to always Be Salt and Light, Shine for Jesus, and Always Put God First in All Things! Hallelujah. He's always Faithful.... God Bless. 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤

I have your book.. made this dish. I had to watch your video to figure out how to put it all together. Some of the steps in the book are missing .. for example adding sugar and cinnamon to the flour for the crust. I added the vanilla like you said could be. It came out really tasty. Thank you.. and the best part is your sharing the word of God with us! God Bless you and your family :)

I looked at 6 different cobbler recipes and decided on this one, and boy, am I glad I did! This was easy, I had all the ingredients on hand, and it was delicious. The top was crisp, and held up well to the small scoop of vanilla ice cream we put on top. I cut the butter in small chunks and put it on top, rather than using another bowl and the microwave to melt it. It worked just fine. This one in going in the permanent recipe file. Peace to you all.

I used to make this with my mom when I was little. So much better than the oatmeal brown sugar topping I see on other recipes. As kids we would eat the topping off so that all that was left in the pan were the apples. I'm sure it frustrated my mom. Good memories. Now to make this with my own kids. Yum!

I've seen alot of recipes for Apple Cobbler over the years, but yours is by far the best. And you always explain the steps so carefully and thoroughly. Thank you so much! I have only one problem now: Deciding which apples I want to use. We're blessed with so many choices in the stores, and I have big trouble making up my mind... P.S. I sometimes enjoy a small slice of sharp cheddar with apple desserts; it makes a nice contrast.
